Chloe is still sleeping for around twenty hours a day, only waking to be fed. Have you any ideas of how I can keep her awake any longer? MIL keeps asking if it is normal for her to sleep so much. I have tried to keep her entertained but she just falls asleep.

I wouldnt try and keep her awake

Callum is a sleepy baby too

If they need it they need it

Sarah do you find he stays awake more now he is a little older? Did you find he was quicker to sleep through the night than expected? I feel the MIL tries to push us to start a routine with her but when she sleeps so much it is difficult, think she is only being hard work because we won't let her have Chloe to stay until she settles for someone other than myself.

I would say let her sleep :)
As long as she is feeding enough i wouldnt disturb her
Enjoy the peace and quiet

i agree with the others - let her sleep. she'll find her own routine eventually

I agree too...let her sleep...you're lucky my Lo rarely sleeps much in the day!! :wall:

Calum sleeps all the time, he has stayed awake sometimes for and hour or so around feed time and only in the last few days has he started to be awake longer at various times in the day. At first it was around teatime for about 2 hours and today was the longest at 5 hours. I'm sure they'll wake longer when they want to.
