Can I just ask those of you with 8/9 month old babies in particular, what time to you give last feeds at night and but them down, and what time do they wake up for feeds in the morning, and do they get up?

Noah currently has a bottle at 9pm and them goes to bed, but still wakes for a bottle at 6am, should he be going any longer, and perhaps he has just got into habbit?

hi

Alex is a bit younger than Noah (6 months) but i thought i'd share anyway!

he has his last bottle at 7 and goes down at 7.30. he then sleeps through till between 6 and 7am (except this morning when it was 5.30!)

he was doing the same sort of times as Noah when he first started going through the night then we gradually brought the last feed forward around 3 months and it didnt change the time he woke up.

could just be that he is used to it now. if you want him to have the feed eariler you could try gradually moving the feed time and see how he goes? if you are happy with his feed times then i wouldnt worry too much. its only a couple of hours so wouldnt take him long to get the hang of it whenever you want to do it. (i do like my evening once he's gone to bed though :D )

it could be the time of year. Mines is a good bit older than your but she was sleeping till 8 and then the clocks changed and with it being really light in the mornings she started this 6am thing again. I have whittled it back to 7 but its still early compared to what she was.

You might find when the mornings start to get a bit darker that it settles.

Yeah I was wondering if the only reason he is waking up so early is because its light outside. Perhaps I will look at getting some black out blinds. I would just love to not have to get up to feed him at 6am every day!!!!

braydon is 9 months and has his last bottle at 10 n wakes at 7 thats if he hhas a bath at 8.30 on the dot if not hell have last bottle at 10 wake up at 4 then go bck to be till 7

Hiya, since Reece was about 7 months he's been going to bed with a bottle at 8 then waking anytime between 4 and 7. He's still getting up at different times. Was 6:30 today, 5,55 yesterday and 4:30 day before!!!

Sometimes if Reece wakes up before 6 I just pass him a bottle and he sends himself back to sleep while he drinks it. I get an extra hour in bed :D :cheer:

Elliott is 7 months but he has his last milk at 6.30 and is generally asleep by 7pm. Occasionally he goes through to 6.50am but it's usually more like 6.15. He was waking earlier and being really restless in the mornings but we got a cheap blackout blind from Ikea for £15 and I'm convinced it made a difference. We've experimented with feeding him and putting him to bed later to see if he'll sleep later in the mornings but he doesn't. He dropped the 11pm feed at about 20 weeks and even then he used to wake at 6am so I think it's just something magical about that hour in the morning!

Lydia refuses to go to sleep unless she's sucking on a bottle - so I prop it up next to her on one of Phil's t-shirts.
Sometimes she drops it and falls asleep then sleeps all the way through. Other times she will wake in the night and I'll have to get up and make her another one and prop that one up too - then I get back in bed and she sucks herself to sleep again until morning.

I KNOW I know I know...."don't prop a bottle up", "don't let them suck on a bottle in bed it's bad for the teeth" etc etc etc. But we've had SOOOOO many sleep problems with Lydia that this is the lesser of 2 evils. It's quite literally the only thing that has kept our sanity!

As for times, well only in the past week or so have we managed to get her into SOME kind of routine. I've just put her down, it's 9.30pm.
The past 2 days she went to bed at 11pm and woke at 7.30am.
I hope she's not going to wake me up at 6am since she's gone to sleep earlier! *crosses fingers*

That doesn't sound too bad Cat.

Maybe it is a light issue.

Phoebe has a feed at 6pm when she goes to bed and has her morning one at about 6am.

She's been like this since she was 6weeks old though so I think I am just extremely lucky

Yeah sounds like they are all much the same then!

At least Noah goes back to sleep after his 6am bottle, some times till a wake him for his parrage at 9:30! so I shouldnt complain really! But I think I might try the black out blind too.

untill i read about the babys on here i thought all slept thro the nite at this age!!
at least Braydon is getting there

Jamie has a bottle around 5ish and then he has his tea, he goes to bed at 6.30-7ish and doesnt usually want a bottle beforehand. he sleeps through until 7.30 normally...sometimes longer sometime earlier! i just make sure i fill him up during the day!
i also have a big fleece blanket covering his window as its still light when he goes to bed and is light earlier inthe morning!
