Should I be engorged?

Hi all, hope someone can help!

I have been bfing for three weeks and usually during night feeds my breasts are very full and swollen. However the past two days, my breasts have been very soft all the time. Baby seems to still be feeding but is this what is supposed to happen or am I drying up on milk? They are so soft it seems ridiculous?!

As your supply regulates you shouldn't get engorged. I've been told that your body learns to make milk as it's needed rather than in anticipation. You may find that your supply goes nuts again after the next growth spurt though.

If baby seems satisfied and is weeing and pooing I wouldn't worry. Once your body knows how much milk to produce your boobs become softer and more settled.
