My blood pressure was 169/90 is overly high or just a little high? All my doc said was my midwife won't be happy and he is limited as to what he could give me. It's stressing me a bit.
Does high blood pressure so early on lead to pre eclampsia?

I think there is a connection with pre-eclampsia but I don't know much about it. My cousin had pre-eclampsia during pregnancy recently.

My blood pressure is always sky high when I'm pregnant. Everyone I saw when I was with Oscar used to take it twice coz they never believed the first reading lol Think it's coz I'm highly strung though lol

Speak to your midwife hun, she'll defo be more helpful than a gp I reckon xxx

Forgot to say your blood pressure reading is reaching the top limit, but you're not there yet.

Blood pressure of 120/80 mmHg is normal. Low blood pressure is a top number reading lower than 90 or pressure 25 mmHg lower than usual. Moderate to severe high blood pressure is a top number 160 or over or the bottom number of 100 or over.

xxxxx

thanks hun i suffer with hbp when pregnant and have been in and out of hospital with it more then i care to remember i just never had it so early i will definitely talk to the midwife xxx

Are you close to your surgery and do they have one of them bp checking machine things? You could just monitor yourself make sure it doesn't get over the limit? I think it's probably up and down alot during pregnancy. Mine defo drops really drastically sometimes coz I feel like I'm going to pass out and get really dizzy

It is a bit high hun ....but it could be that high due to you being a bit nervous at appointment .....they worry about the bottom figure the most and the 90 is high end ......i have had preeclampsia in previous pregnancys and when it goes over 90 is when they start fussing

my blood pressure was 126 over 90 yesterday my midwife said ...better it high at the start then you come to your second appoinment with that reading and we all start panicking. I have been checking my blood pressure at home though and its not been over 80 so think it was just the appointment and rushing around

all i can say is try not to worry keep your food healthy and do some excercise as its supposed to help. easier said than done when your battling morning sickness though

Thanks ladies my fil just bought one of those bp monitors so I'm going to use it to keep an eye. It was high when I had my mc in April and my pulse was very fast I was put on a heart monitor at the hospital. Al is really helping me with the kids and the house and keeping me stress free I am also eating really healthy I have been on a diet the past few months and lost over 43 lbs and go walking twice a day.
My mum has high bp and my father died from a Stroke so i like to keep an eye on things
I would hate to be plagued with hospital monitoring for this pregnancy I really want to enjoy it x

it is high and you need treatment but it also proves that you have preexistent high blood pressure and not related to pregnancy. if treated ok it dosent predispose to eclampsia.
