It destroyed my sex drive completely... its one of the side effects... I thought there was something wrong with me... because just the thought of having sex used to make me want to vomit.. Its not like that now of course

Nope I think drug and cosmetic testing is a very good idea for pedos... we need to have human trials, why not on people we don't care about dying in hideous and painful ways?

isn't your child more important ot you than your dog/cat?
mine are. i would rather have them chipped than my cat or dog.

take this scenario for example.

you're out shopping with your micro chipped child ( billy ). You go into a market look around and Billy is gone. You search for him. The police are called and a full search is made of the area he vanished. Still nothing.
But Billy is micro chipped. You are able to place a chip into your own personal tracer at home and see exactly where Billy is. He is on the motorway. The motor way is closed off and car to car searches are done and Billy is found. Billy may be dead bt Billy is found .

Imagine if madeleine had been chipped. She may have been found alive within hours. She may have been found dead somewhere. But she would have been found.

That would be an infringement of their human rights Trix.......

The talk is to implant children in either the wrist or the stomach. The chip would then transmit a radio signal.

I for one would not want a device inside my childs body to be emiting radio signals, bad enough we're surrounded by them everywhere we go. Who knows what damage could be done to the developing body.

Further, in the extremely rare occurance of a complete stranger wishing to abduct your child, if chips become common, the very first thing that person would want to do would be to disable the chip, and he sure as sh*t won't be using aneasthetic.

Also, when these hideous crimes do occur, it's usually all over within a very short space of time from the child actually being taken. You'd need an extremely rapid response by the police in order to prevent the worst.

I still think it's a sticking plaster solution, and it isn't addressing the real problem.

i see what you mean about missing kids etc. but you don't really know if that's all they are using the chipps for.

and some times i think that this whole maddie thing is set up (not in a bad way) but she goes missing it's on the news 24 for about 3 months, i think and before you know it they want to chip newborn babies.

Bizarely my OH came up with the idea of micro chipping babies years back, before he had heard about it on the news, he thinks it's great and would love to hav Scarlett done but Im still on the fence.

I think that while yes it will work for being able to find ur child if they are abducted- dead or alive- the chances of them being dead are probably increased just by it becoming common knowledge to the abductors that children are chipped. I strongly believe they will find a way of disarming them and even worse doing horrific operations etc to remove them.

If ur child was abducted then the person panicked and killed them frantically trying to remove the chip as they knew the police/media/world was onto them (a la Maddy ) when originally they werent plannng on murder, chipping hasnt helped there.

But on the flip side parents notice bloody quick their child aint there so there would prob be loads of times whereby the chippin enabled police to find them before any harm came to them.

But I really dont know- if it became available u also need to think that these awful cases like maddy are rare and chipping in more innocent scenarios of ur child getting lost but not abducted would be resolved so much more easily- makes me not rule it out.

No way, tbh I don't think it would make much diference, certainly wouldn't be a deterrant. I microchip my cats as they are left to roam the street.Plus I can't explain to them that the "nice" person who offers them food might hurt them whereas I can do my best to make sure my children know about stranger danger and that if anyone makes them feel scared they can tell me. Yes abductions do happen but they are very rare. I do think that if Seren went missing then I would want her to be found asap obviously but this option does not sit comfortable with me.

The majority of paedophiles do actually have no previous convictions. One study into the reconviction rates of sex offenders showed that 77% of those that had offended against children had no previous sexual offences. Therefore tagging known paedophiles would only mean we would know where the convicted ones were not the ones who weren't convicted.
