It's 3.06 as I type this, sitting in my cold living room, close to tears on the 3rd night running that my daughter just will not sleep for anything longer than an hour and has been up for the last 2. We're knackered, and at a total loss. She has 1/2 naps in the day- around half an hour, that's it. Her day is full of playing & seeing people & activities. She should be knackered. And yet I find myself sitting here, watching Mickey Mouse on repeat while she laughs hysterically.
She's bathed in lavender, lavender candles and sleep plug ins in her room, lovely sheepskin topper in her cot, she's in a set routine, bath bottle bed. Has anyone got any ideas? Or advice? Please?!?!?! X

How old is she?

You say your living room is cold, is she warm enough in her bed?

Could she be teething?

My little one is 7 months and we have this problem. She sleeps until midnight but after that she stirs every hour. Thankfully she just usually needs her dummy put in. I think it's teeth with my little one. She was very unsettled on Monday evening and I didn't know why but before bed I have her some calpol and then she slept from 730-1 stirred then slept again until 5 which has made me think she has more teeth coming

She's 9.5 months.
Living room is cold but she has an oil filled radiator in her room that keeps the ambient temp at the right level. There doesn't seem to be anymore coming through currently (she has 2) she's not showing her typical signs of teething x

As she is still only 9 months I would think she may need longer naps during the day. They say sleep breeds sleep. Harder said then done if she will only do half hr but maybe try out in the car one day and see if it helps.
Also you said you are in the living room and watching TV. Firstly do whatever you feel is right she is your child and it won't be forever. Having said that I would not let her watch tv during the night, I would rather bring my child in to co-sleep with me otherwise theymay get confused that it is not nighttime and it is ok to be awake.
They say babies sleep very lightly through most of the night and if they don't know how to settle themselves back to sleep they will fully wake.
I hope that makes sense, I feel for you. My daughter is 2 and it will get better x

I'm sorry to hear it. Does she usually self settle for naps/sleep (prior to the last three nights of no sleep!).

My daughter is a day time cat-napper too - if anyone knows how to make my child sleep for longer that would be grand

I never went downstairs, I either got him in our bed or just let him chat. I still do, there's no way I'm teaching my kid it's getting up time before the crack of dawn.. It's night time, back when we were little there was no mickey mouse to watch so mickey mouse will come back in the morning, even mickey is asleep I'd say.. And when it's still dark he'll go back to sleep when it's getting light he's got a point and reasoning to wanting to get up now.
