Hi ladies,

I used to post here when I was pregnant with my first, which in hindsight was a really easy pregnancy...I didn't have even one day of feeling sick.

I am now 7 weeks with my second and I feel absolutely horrendous. For the last 10 days I have felt totally nauseated from the moment I wake up until I fall asleep. There is not a minute of the day where I feel better....its constant. Yet I have not been sick once. I am totally off my food and losing weight, though I am trying to eat.

My toddler is in nursery some days and I work, but I'm self employed so if I don't work I don't make any money. When he is with me all I can do is put the TV on for him and lie there.

I just feel so low....I know I am so lucky to be pregnant again but right now I feel like crying because I just feel so unwell.

Can anyone relate?

Yes Hun, I've been losing weight as I can't eat which drives my oh mad, speak to your GP about going on an antibsickness tablet, I was put on cyclazine at first but that was too strong for me and made me like I had been for a night out so I'm on next one it's not as strong so I'm still been as sick but not as much as I am with out it, try eating toast or sandwiches and having plain biscuits like rich tea, digestives, arrow root or ginger biscuits too little and often, my oh has bought me fresh and frozen fruit to make smoothies and so far it's 50/50 wether I keep them down or not but they taste good and are full of all stuff your baby needs :-)

Thanks Holli! I am eating Rich Tea as I type and its the best thing Ive found so far. I think I may need the anti sickness tablet if it doesn't improve soon, glad to hear it is helping you a little bit.

hi, i had the same experience where my first pregnancy was a breeze and my second i was incredibly unwell. i would advise going to the dr, by the time i went i only just avoided being hospitalised, i didnt realise how serious 'morning sickness' can be! i was perscribed ondansetron which helped a little.

Hi hun im the same! Was incredibly sick with first pregnancy and ended up in hospital but obviously didn't have a toddler then so was easier to cope. This time sickness has been just as bad if not worse, went straight to the docs for cyclazine at 7 weeks but this time hasn't really helped. Things to try - ginger biscuits, ginger ale, lemonade, sickness wrist bands, peppermint and eating little and often but to be honest nothing really helped me i just have to ride it out. Some of us are just made to suffer lol. Im 15 weeks now and though im still throwing up 5/6 times a day the constant nausa has eased the last couple weeks so hang in there. And don't be too hard on yourself about your toddler, its not permanent and a few weeks TV wont hurt. I had to do the same,my nausea was so strong on a morning i took to bringing dd in bed with me for snuggles and cbeebies which gave me a chance to pull myself round a bit. She was never one to sit and watch TV before,we pretty much lived outside but the past few weeks have had to be a lot more snuggles and movies, playing with building blocks or drawing type activities which i could just sit with her and rest. She's been incredible adapting and now i cant wait for this bit to be over so we can get back to more fun activities and actually keeping food down!! Xx

I have no answers but I'm really struggling with morning sickness and don't have a toddler to deal with so I can't imagine what you're going through! This is my first and it all happened rather quickly so I am grateful for that but also feeling pretty low generally and sickness and nausea is not helping!

Hope it gets a bit better for you soon :)

Thanks for the lovely messages...I don't feel so alone now.

Do you think id even qualify for medications? I'm not vomiting so I'm not sure if they would think I was 'sick' enough? I do keep wishing I would throw up actually as the nausea is so intense....but I never am. At least not yet.

Mrs Cookie sounds like we are handling it similarly. So pleased for you that you are through the worst of it, I hope it finishes soon!

Princesssaxy I think its hard whether you have a toddler or not....feeling like crap all day long is totally draining. Be kind to yourself. When are you due?

I would go to the doctor, they may prescribe something. I had hyperemesis up until 22 weeks. I was physically sick with everything though, even a sip of water would come up. The sickness tablets reduced the actual sickness but not the nausea. I was on avomine, cyclizine made me feel even worse. As you're not being sick to begin with, the tabs may be more effective.
Just eat whatever you can manage, I couldn't drink water so took to sucking the juice of oranges when I could or ice pops.
It is so hard when you have other children to look after too. Have you got some friends or family close by that can help out on the non nursery days xx

Even though my sickness isnt AS bad as last year, (i.e i do get good days and bad days rather than all bad days) i have a one year old to look after, and i'm just not able to, fortunately my husband isnt working at the moment so he's doing pretty much everything, but now my baby is more attached to daddy than to me :'( it makes me feel pretty rubbish

i would still go to the dr even though you're not actually being sick, because the meds help with the nausea feeling.

Anti sickness the way forward lovely!

I'll be taking them for sure!

Hope u feel better soon.

With my two I was 10 weeks on the dot feeling better!

Xx

Hi there, I have been suffering really bad from sickness for 3 weeks now day and night. If I am not being sick I am feeling it ! I have an appointment with my gp next week but I had my early scan yesterday and I mentioned it to the nurse and after going through the whole list of things I have tried and tested (with failure) she said have you tried boiled sweets like fox’s glacier fruits? It’s because sometimes you feel so yuck because you blood sugars have dipped and having a sweet will bring them back up. I hadn’t so went straight to the shop after my appointment and low and behold I have had success! I have gone from being sick 4 times on the journey to the hospital to having a sick free journey back and then being sick just once last night and once this morning (when I first got up) and I was being sick up to 15 times a day. I have a sweet in my mouth as I type. I have found having just one every hour to two hours has really helped me. I have also increased the amount I brush my teeth too mind you! X

I’m 8 weeks and feeling sick all the time as well. Not being sick much and I am trying to force myself to eat but I just feel horrific all the time! I don’t really want to take tablets if I can avoid it, but I don’t know how I’m going to cope with work feeling like this, I have an hour drive and the motion of the car is killing me!
