I have, over the last couple of days, developed heartburn and it is horrible. It seems to come on about 3pm and stays until I go to bed. I have been keeping it at bay with Rennie soft chews (which I love). A question for those who have experienced it, is this it until I give birth? Or does it go away again? I really thought I had escaped it  Although yay for a hairy baby :cheer:

In other news I have a wedding to go to this Saturday and am having a 'I look crap and fat in everything' moment :( Also most people there have no idea I am pregnant and so I foresee numerous 'was it planned?' conversations, not to mention 'wow you've put on a lot of weight' comments  Having said that, I can't wait to see my friend get married :cheer:

My heartburn was pretty irregular until about 2 weeks ago, now i get it everynight, i dont even need to eat to get it! And i even take stuff for it before eating  it is unfortunately a common fun aspect of pregnancy!

I'm sure you look pregnant! I've found that tight or stretchy dresses are the best for displaying bump. I've got a lovely black one, it's got a sheer layer over a stretchy one, a bow tie at the back under boobs, and buttons just above, it shows off bump lovely.

You need to go in to the wedding with your head held high proud of bump and baby!! Make sure you know how you'll respond to unhelpful questions (someone i went to school with asked me if i was keeping my baby at 26 weeks, what a twat!!).

You'll look gorgeous, but i must admit i felt fat in everything sometimes, it does nothing for your confidence until you find that item that you feel confident in

Heartburn was constant for me :(
I hoping things to be different this time lol but highly unlikely haha

Im sure you will look beautiful at your friends wedding !! With your beautiful baby bump! Not fat!  :cheer:

Thanks girls :D I have gone up two dress sizes so I have definitely put on more than bump weight  I have a nice top from ebay that ties at the back and think I will wear that with my black linen trousers.

Clare your black dress sounds lovely, I did find a really nice dress from Jojo Bebe Mamam but unfortunately it showed my newly acquired love handles ugh!

I shall keep taking the Rennies, I am not liking the sound of the Gaviscon that lots of people are taking :D

 Have no idea about heartburn but I hope tomorrow you feel better I hate fatty days! But you will look great and people will say your doin that whole "blooming" thing that we're meant to be at!

I had it really bad, right up until the end. Sorry hun
FYI, you can get Gaviscon (the big bottles) on prescription. Saved me a fortune!

I shall attempt to bloom suitably at the wedding ;) although I'm sure all eyes will be on the bride anyway :)

Misslarue, I think if it gets worse or carries on I shall get a prescription, I like free things :cheer:

I had heartburn with my first, once it started it didn't stop. I preferred the gaviscon tablets.

By the way, my son was as bald as an eagle when he was born despite the constant heartburn :D It's an old wives tale that they'll be hairy if you get heartburn.

Ooh Mildly I am at a wedding on Saturday too, wonder if it's the same one  how strange would that be?! I am sure you will look fab, the pics you have posted in tummy pic section certainly don't show you are fat. Have fun :D

Re: heartburn, I am sorry that you are suffering with it - the joys of pregnancy eh?! Jacob was born with lots of hair and I didn't suffer with heartburn, so I think it's all a myth :D

Xxx

Bagpuss can you get minty flavoured gaviscon tablets? I will have a look while I'm shopping today.

Lindsay, ooh I wonder if it is. I will keep my eyes peeled for another pregnant lady :D

Could still be true Midly! I found a that they did a study on it and found there is a link! Like a higher % of women who had severe heartburn had hairy babies!! :D

Claire it is horrible, I bought new supplies of soft and chewy rennies but completely forgot to look for gaviscon tablets  It seems to have started already today too :x

Yay lea :cheer: OH and I both have quite thick hair and were hairy babies so I think I have a good chance of birthing a monkey ;)

cold milk? few sips each time helps me along...havent tried gaviscon but rennies did not do much for me. hope they do work for you and the wicked heartburn stays at bay...

have fun at the wedding... :cheer:
