Have to say this as I'm SO proud of myself...

After attempting - on many occasions - to stop smoking completely, and failing miserably, I have now gone over 5 weeks without a cigarette.

In the past, when I've "stopped", I've always slipped by now and had at least a "try to see how horrid it is" but not this time. I must really want a baby huh?

Hubby is surprised that I've not been tetchier, I'm feeling WAY better than I have in ages and my sense of smell has heightened to a level I can't actually ever remember having. Not always great when someone's ill (BLEEEE) but hey, it's not too bad eh?

Smug moment over :D :D :D

:yay: Congratulations! :yay: Your title really made me laugh

Just have to make the hubby stop now  I think I'd rather wrestle with a crocodile...

One step at a time, and all that. I''m also "saving" us about £200 a month - new shoooooooes for meeeeeeeee :yay:

i didnt even realise i was pregnant at the time but i had just gone off having fags and i must of been about 5 weeks and ive failed miserably few times when ive attempted to stop but i wasnt really trying to stop at the time, it kind of worn off on me so i gave the last ive given the last ones i had away lol.

congrats on giving up smoking and so you should be feeling smug :D and i know how you feel just dont get tempted afterwards, ur doing so well.

A pat on the back for very well :) x

:yay: Good work. I stopped the day I found out I was expecting my eldest. It's funny how it gives you the motivation :)

keep up the good work! at this rate you'll have a new wardrobe full of shoes!!! x

i cant believe how much that can be saved although i really wanted my hubby to give up so i took him to a smoking clinic in the local area keep going every week well mines a saturday im not sure if u have one in ur area but keep looking about or talk to ur local doctor to see if there is on about :) i hope u find one because it would really help your hubby. its completley free.

the only thing i worried about givin up on smoking is the bordem an wat to do with my hands because they were always near my mouth but somehow the motivation takes over. tell ur hubby to think more of the baby with 2nd hand smoke although dont pressurise just mention it to him.

i think the only reason why my hubby has giving up as i miscarried wen i was smoking so now this time he wants he to not let anything be at risk.

keep up the good work :D x

Hooray! I gave up when I found out I was expecting too, but even before the bfp I found I wasn't enjoying them at all, and one point they were even making me retch - weird how your body gives you hints you on notice in hindsight! I've always failed miserably in giving up until now, so also feeling smug lol!

Have you had a cough or anything? I've had a terrible cough since giving up, the doc said it was all the crap loosening in my lungs yuck yuck yuck!!

That is SO brilliant hun, well done! :yay:

Had a bit of a tickle but nothing major, tbh. Just generally feel a little better and not actually missing it. It was time to stop - been wanting to , properly, for years but thought that it was just "time" when I woke up one day.

Brilliant that you stopped. I'm not expecting, or close to it, but didn't want to be going through the withdrawal of anything whilst TTC. Good for you for stopping! :yay:

ive got bad gums at the moment under the top of the roof of my mouth is killing from giving up smoking it could take weeks for it go some people dont it so if people dont get it then ur lucky buggers :D lolx

Well done its the most difficult thing to kick aside from heroin! Good on you!

:Yay: Well done after trying to stop numerous time I understand how difficult this is. Well done you. I too like Merv mums found finding out I had a bean on board the motivation I required

Massive congratulations!! I stoped about 3 months before I fell pregnant and haven't had one since. Neither have I wanted one. I'd tried so many times before and failed. Keep up the good work!!!

:yay: Well done hun, shame you didn't notice the hubby giving up ;)

Yeah, not feeling so smug now  but I have gone 5 weeks more than him  Maybe he deserves a treat if he lasts the week!
