If you've been paying class 2 National Insurance you may be entitled to Maternity Allowance.

I am also self employed.

Its about £108 per week or less if your earnings average lower than that. You have to claim via the job centre, but all the details are on the websites.

You can claim for up to 39 weeks, and you will also be able to do up to 10 days of work during the period you are claiming benefit. If you choose to!
