Second scan 8 weeks..

Hi ladies,

Guess I just want some reassurance . Have a second scan tomorrow when I am 8 weeks and 1 day.. So nervous. My scan at 6 weeks and 2 days they saw a heart flickering and the beginning of the fetal pole. What are the odds of something happening between then and now? I have had no bleeding ( but on 800 cyclogest so should prevent that anyways ), still have nausea every day and breast feels tender.

I just want everything to be ok!!

Just to give you an idea here r my 1st 2early scans 2 weeks apart.

5+6 no baby or hb.
8+3 (was put forward) my lil jelly bean.

hes now 2.5yrs old

I'm sure everything will be fine. I had one at 6+6 and saw hb, went back last week and everything was still ok. I was even measuring 2 days ahead!

Had the scan and ok i think.. We saw a good strong HB and the fetus which was great! The only thing is doc told me i meassured 7 weeks and 4 days and i am 8 weeks and 1 day so 4 days behind!

She said it was normal and since i am petit and quite slim person that might cause it.

Any advise on this??

And slightly OT, but just a little rant about giving dates so early on...when I had my first scan, they put me at 5+9 where I should've been 7, and I kept worrying until the next scan at 12 weeks. Reading so many other people's experiences here where the dates were way off, they might aswell skip that step as it doesn't really look like ultrasound is the most accurate technology at that stage? Anyway...end of rant. Baby caught up by 13 weeks, and hope yours will do, too!

No I am little nervous again. Done some research and most peoples who measure behind might have been wrong with ovulation but since I did IVF I know exactly the dates. Fetus measures around 1.3 cm. Scared something is wrong now

I really wouldnt worry as it's only off by a few days and like tohers are saying, you will most likely catch up by 12 weeks!! Great news scan went well though xx

I wouldn't worry honey ... how else can one lady have a 6lb baby at term and another 8lb ... all babies (and humans) are different sizes.
The hospital are just going by the average size at that point.

Honestly, you've seen a heartbeat so nothing to worry about.

Please try to relax for the sake of your baby xx

When you have your 12 week scan you'll be given a proper date as all babies grow at different rates xx

...and I'm guessing implantation can also take longer, even with IVF, so it might not be ovulation but the time your baby took to attach that's now putting you behind. Please stop worrying, if you have seen a heartbeat, it reduces the chances of something being wrong at this stage by quite a bit.

Babies grow at different rates I was put back 3 days at my first early scan and then at 12 weeks I was put forward by 4 days so it just depends on baby's growth spurts and they all grow at different rates and times x a heartbeat at 8 weeks means miscarriage rates drop by quite a lot it's impossible not to worry but don't Google and try to keep busy xx

Hello I had a rescan today, according to date of last period I should be 7w4 but I measured 6w2 ... Mw said it is totally normal and nothing to worry about as I saw a fab heartbeat.... Mw said prior to 11 weeks it's extremely difficult to give accurate dates.... Try not to worry and just enjoy your pregnancy xx
