Did you find it harder second (or third or fourth) time around? I'm 27 weeks with number 2, and I have a 2 year old daughter. I work Mon to Thurs 7.30am - 6pm. I am absolutely exhausted, my bump is starting to get in the way, I can't sit or lie comfortably, struggling to carry my two year old... I'm sure I coped better first time!

Definitely- I'm 26+3 with second (son is 21 months). You just don't get that luxury of rest do you with a little one? Those are long hours too, when are you going on mat leave? X

Early pregnancy and an energetic 5 year old do not mix. I just want to sleep x

Definitely! With my first pregnancy, I'd come home from work or spend weekends lying down and relaxing if I needed to. With a four year old, that's not an option.

Number 1 was 18m when I got pregnant with number 2 (and I worked full time, until I was 38w). I coped but it was hard. Plus we moved when I was 30w and our new place was more than double the size - so lots more for us to clean.

I'm 15w with number 3 and felt awful in tri 1 this time. Not just tiredness but constant nausea, food aversions, heartburn. But I've got a 4.6yo and 2.6yo so had to carry on. I was older and fatter to begin with so knew it was going to be a struggle, it's been awful though. I feel like I've turned a corner now - fingers crossed!!!

I work 3 days per week now - although have school runs on days I don't work - but I am hoping to last until 37w before I go on ML.

X

My first was almost 6 months old when I got pregnant with my second and my second was 9 months old when I got pregnant with the third. This has been the worst pregnancy by far, I have horrendous sciatica and SPD but just have to battle through it because I have a 2 and 1 year old to look after and entertain (baby 3 was planned to much further down the line but he had other ideas). I'm 37 and a half weeks and can't wait for him to come out and I never felt like that with the other two as I loved being pregnant but it's far too difficult to look after tiny people and have a beachball strapped to your front all day. They can even move at twice the speed I can because I'm so slow from the shooting pains down my legs. Until yesterday my second had never slept through the night and not even come close to half a night in his own bed but some controlled crying and finally getting his own room has solved that. I would say that I've probably had an average of 5-6 hours sleep each night for this entire pregnancy so I'm massively sleep deprived but I think my body has just had to get used to it :(

Having said that I wouldn't change a thing, it is what it is and I just get on with it - not that anyone really understands how!

I'm glad it's not just me! In my first pregnancy I somehow managed to got up at 5am to go and do my horses, go to work, come home and go straight to do horses again and get home at 9pm! This time round, whilst I'm still having an easy pregnancy, I'm much more tired and don't need to do the horses as it's summer. I'm also finding my bump really big and heavy and I'm only 19weeks! I'm putting this down to being heavier and have lost any fitness I once had so really feeling the strain of the changes in my body x

Oh gosh this thread makes me nervous haha ttc number 2 atm and I found my daughter SO hard to carry lol I was off work the entire time and had really bad pain in pelvis and legs from 20 weeks. I was hoping next time might be easier.... lol

This pregnancy has been far harder than with my son!
I've been so sick and nauseous, I wasn't entirely sure how I was going to survive the remaining 6 months at the time, but you have to find a way - my little boy will be 3 years old on Monday.
I'm working full time, fortunately on hols at the moment, but I have a demanding full time job. I'm hoping to hold out until 19th December due to the way maternity leave works and schools hols. Baby number two is due on 10th January!

My son was 7/8 when I was pregnant with no 2 so I didn't have the energetic toddler but my word the 2nd pregnancy was worse. The sickness the size of me by 24 weeks I looked full term everyone made the twins comment lol. My hip's still haven't fixed I'm starting physio in the next few weeks for that and don't get me started on how much worse the labour was! I still managed 8hr's shift on my feet at work 4 days a week until 2 weeks before she was born though so you do manage and do cope. I planned to work until 7th may (was due 10th may she was born 13th may) but had to stop a bit eater as I lost my plug so work weren't insured for me to work lol

Third pregnancy here and yes, really struggling now. I have 14 months between the older two, and 2 years between #2 and this one and I've found this pregnancy easier in some ways (slightly less painful), but harder in most ways as I've two toddlers to entertain. You do just manage it though, I guess you don't have much choice

Finding it waaaay harder this time with my second. I'm definitely bigger and feel like I am waddling already. My tiredness has totally come back too and I'm completely unmotivated and lacking energy. I feel like I've got ages to go but also that I have been pregnant FOREVER.
