Hi all,

Does any one else find alot of people tend to be scared of us pregnant women. Especially the bigger / nearer our due dates we get?

I have constantly had people stare at me throught my pregnancy. I don't know why. Maybe because i look quite young, i don't know?? It is quite rude!

But now people look at me with almost fear in their eyes!! lol! Like i'm going to go into labour and they will have to help! :rotfl: :rotfl:

We went to a family party thing Sunday. DF has loads of family. And people ask when you are due. When i said 'today' they look at you like'oh my god she going to give birth here!' :rotfl: :rotfl:

What do they expect, us womenn to stay at home for the whole 3rd tri!!

I think its funny. Now when i say i am overdue it's even funnier. I might start pretend i'm having contractions to really freak people out :D

:rotfl: I find people stare too, though im not sure what at first - my impressive g boobs or my bump!
:rotfl:

I went into town yesterday and I felt like people were staring at me too.... People go out of their way to not get in my way too which is quite sweet really I guess. If someone did knock into me in a shop or something they looked mortified!

I think it is a nervous reaction that people think they should make a comment to acknowledge your bump but don't know what to say so end up getting it wrong!

And I still get stared at wit my mahoosive Deborah feeding boobies

omg ive had people stare at me.

but the other day when i was on my way to my oh's workplace it was the friday just gone, i had to stop to take a breather cause i was getting some pains bottom right think baby was laid funny again like on my hip. Anyway this lady was with her mate nattering and i was rubbing my side trying to move baby and she said are you alright. i said yes im fine just babys lying funny i think. she thought i was gonna go into labor or something. lol i said nah i dont want baby coming yet tis abit early :) i will try walking now i should be ok. then i got a little further and had to stop again. lol

:rotfl: at enn - OMG I was the same on way home from picking Josh up from school, had to stop and this woman was like "your not in labour are you?" Said "no its just a stitch" so she said ok and walked off but kept looking back at me :rotfl: :rotfl: I think she expected to see a baby dangling between my legs lol

Might have scared the hell out of some never to have babies from the trauma. I can just imagine Josh's reaction - "LOOK AT MY BROTHER YEY" he cant wait :rotfl:

people don't seem to notice me, which really annoys me because they push me out of the way and stuff (especially on the trains :( ) but in our local pub where we go out for food a couple of times a week, the people all move for me :)

it was the same for me too when i was pregnant as it was winter time and i covered up my bump with a massive parka coat. I told a woman at the job centre that i was pregnant and she went "oh yeah but you wont be having it for a while yet" and i repilied "Im due in about 6 weeks time!" lol the look on her face was hilarous, she sisnt even know i was pregnant let alone 8 months pregnant!

But Laura I agree about the overdue thing, I went to pickup my pram when i was 2 days overdue and the woman in the shop was like "when are you due?" i said "two days ago". lol she couldnt get me out the shop quick enough :rotfl: .

Hi

Just recently i started having this.
Yesterday i was waiting for Bernie at the ferries, and was busy cahsing Kiara back and forth while we waited and i guess a lady seen that me and my dad were together and went up and asked if we were having twins, hes like what my daughter ? no he laughed and said there is only 1 boy in there  I thought it was funny.
Then about half hour later someone asked when i was due i said on the 23rd , shes like your gonna bring your self in labour right here the way your chasing your daughter

I've noticed that men are staring more than women. Women just tend to ignore me while men seem not to be able to stop staring at my bump! Even when they are talking to me, instead of looking at my face they are constantly looking at my belly!? :) Couple of times I was so annoyed by that and wanted to hit somebody but then I just laugh and think that men are generally weird :D

People look at me like i'm some kind of freak show!! I was walking down the road yesterday, this car went by and the lady passenger moved her sun viser out of the way so she could see me properly!! I just look like any other pregnant woman so I don't get why people look at me like they have never seen any one pregnant before. I noticed loads of people staring when I was shopping last night. Why why why??? When i'm out I must see about 10 other pregnant women so it's not uncommon to see a lady with a bump wherever you go :wall:

OK ladies - calm down :D

Some of these people may be looking at you simply because they love the idea of someone being pregnant. They may even be in the early stages of pregnancy themselves and simply feel an affinity. Even when I wasn't ttc I love seeing pregnant women because there's something life confirming about it. Now I am TTC I love it even more because it says to me it is possible.

And the day you do go into labour - if you are on a street and alone - you may be glad of that person who stops and asks if you're ok.

well said libs! I aactually remember before we started trying but knew we wanted to (if that makes sense, we were waiting until we were married) I was so excited to see pregnant people. I am actually guilty of touching people's bumps without asking just because I was so excited for them.....

I guess I kind of forget that now I am all fat and hormonal and paranoid everyone is staring at me!

If they are staring because they think it's nice then thats ok and I don't mind really but I do mind it when they make you feel un easy and like you just want to run and hide.

I think its nice when people notice - it makes me feel special - although I hate the touching the bump thing without asking.

How many of us are guilty of staring into prams to get a glimpse of the new borns?

I hold my hands up to that!

I don't touch  :rotfl:

Except my sisters - and that's my right damn it :shakehead: :D
