Scared of POAS

Hey

I know there are so many poas addicts out there but do any of you feel too scared?

I literally can't even think about buying a test. I'm 1 day late on my period today and I know id put down my testing day as today on the August thread but honestly I can't bring myself to even buy a test.

I feel like if I just wait and wait and wait for af to arrive it's less disappointing than if I test. It's like the negative test makes it too real.

Am I just being a freak xx

I think it's pretty normal to be scared of seeing a bfn, plenty of ladies wait and then plenty also test early

Last month I got to CD34 before I went out and got a test, was great to see a bfp but sadly ended in mc
This month I'm gonna be testing like a crazy cause I got a whole bunch of cheapies!

If it's unusual for you to be late maybe go buy a test and try?

I think ive tested so much I dont get so bothered by the negatives lol!!
Whatever works for you really, everyone handles it differently. I find it easier to test early and know one way or the other xxx

Are you usually on time or are you ever late? Totally understand wanting to wait for af as it often feels inevitable and it is disheartening getting bfn! There is only one way to find out and thats to do a test. Getting bfn might not mean youre not pregnant as it takes sometimes a lot longer for hcg to be detected in some women. Try not drinking for 2-3 hours and holding onto your pee as this might give a slightly stronger response. Good luck hun x

Thanks guys. I literally don't ever buy them. I've never bought one haha I've been down for the June July and August testing thread but never actually tested or even bought it cuz I chicken out and end up just waiting it out haha can anyone recommend a good test? X

Well you're saving yourself some money by not buying them because they get expensive!

I'm not sure what to recommend, I picked all the worst tests possible last month at least I know which to avoid lol.. wouldn't bother with Tesco own, took ages to get a decent line on those!

First Repsonse are meant to be good but ive never tried them as no idea where you can by them around here, I might order some online to try next month if af comes xx

I would recommend first response. Not keen on blue dye testd. First response usually fairly accurate. Can order online from amazon too. Good luck xx

Wouldn't say I'm scared to test but I never test early. It's just a waste of money as the witch always arrives right on time for me!! I have a couple of tests (only because it's a twin pack) and I've no intention of even opening them until my period is properly late- if that ever happens!! I think for me it just seems a completely pointless exercise because of my regular cycles. I'm also the sort of person who likes a straight answer so all those faint lines that many of you get would drive me completely crazy!! What I like to do is OPKs as I know my period comes 14 days after a positive. That way I know if I'm truly late rather than just a late ovulation. So much less stressful for me.
