I woke up at 4am yesterday morning as I couldnt feel LO move. Couldnt go back to sleep and eventually got out of bed. Had a cold drink...nothing...had some chocloate...nothing.
I pushed it to the back of my mind and thought that maybe as the day progressed he would start to wriggle. I felt him now and then but not half as much as usual. This went on ALL day, so eventually at 11.30pm I rang the delivery suite at the hospital as I got myself into a right panic.
They advised that I go down to the hosptal for monitoring so we hopped in the car and got there within 15 mins. NO TRAFFIC IS GREAT
They popped me straight onto the monitor, but the midwife couldnt find the heartbeat - PANIC PANIC PANIC. I was sobbing and then eventually she found it and strapped me in so tight I almost couldnt breathe.
LO is fine, he was just being a lazy bum. Was monitored for 30 mins and the trace was perfect - showed regular movements and his heartbeat was constant, so no problems there.
She said I did the right thing by ringing in and coming down as she said there was a lady earlier on who came in with reduced movement and her trace was so bad they rushed her to theatre immediately
I felt a bit silly, but thought rather be safe than sorry. I feel a bit better now that I know everything is fine but have been concentrating on feeling his movements all day today - its doing my head in. I have felt him so everything is fine...but you cant help but panic can you?
Gee, this turned out to be quite a long post
