I was planning to talk to her about my pre-AF spotting and get her opinion on whether this could be one of the causes why we haven't conceived yet. She only asked me a couple of questions and how long we've been trying. I said 5 months but told her about the charting and OPks and that the first 2 months we didn't know much about cycles and were probably not doing it on the right days. I was expecting her to suggest some supplements and to continue with the charting for another 3 or 4 months but she immediately suggested referring us to a fertility clinic to have tests done for me and OH! I am soooo pleased with that as i've always thought we'd have to try for at least 12 months before being entitled to see a fertility specialist. So i now have an appointment on the 17th March at a one-stop clinic where they do all internal, external and blood tests in 1 visit!!! I haven't told hubby yet and i am not sure if he'd be as excited as me to have a sperm count but he is as desperate as me to have this child so hopefully i will convince him to join me. It'd be so good to know everything is ok and carry on ttc naturally :D

That's great that you've got a referral so quickly hun, I do hope all goes well

wow that is a quick referal! My gyneaocologist said that anytime up to a year is perfectly normal to conceive and that they would not consider any tests until we had tried for a yr and any fertility treatment until we had tried for 2 yrs! We did manage to conceive naturally after 7 months though  I'm hoping it's quicker this time

crikey that's a quick referral....well done you.

I tried for 10 months last time before I saw the doc and I found that taking my charts and showing that I knew about my cycles (I actually knew more than him!! ) that he referred me straight away.

Luckily I didn't need it because just being referred made me relax about the whole process and I'm sure that's why I got my BFP that very same month. Hopefully now you've taken the pressue off yourselves and moved it to the docs you'll have a BFP soon too

crikey waterlilie- how much did u bribe them??!! or did u use my tactic of blubbing on the poor woman until she sent me for tests (how embaressing that was!! )
good for u anyway hun at least u'll know then if its just a matter of time. hopefully this will let u relax anyway and it will just happen.
xxx

wow!!! not jealouys at all at quick referral! :fib: :fib: :fib: :fib: :fib:

i got told i was allowed to go back after a year instead of the usual 18 months and I was :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Lucky duck!

Rosie, maybe like Chrissy said, with your charts (once they're a bit more filled out, maybe) they might see that you're serious about it and bump you forward a bit? Worth a shot, anyway!

Thanks girls  well i was amazed myself when she said she'd refer us to the clinic! I wasn't expecting that at all but tbh i think she looked at our ages (me 31 and OH 47) and probably thought that our chances of conceiving naturally are very slim so we'd better start investigating early. She's probably more worried about my hubby's sperm count as she asked me a couple of questions about his health. Hubby (who is a doctor himself and is very fit) doesn't seem concerned about this and is rather proud of his abundant and healthy sperm (according to him anyway  ). The good thing is that he didn't show any reluctance when i mentionned sperm count test at the clinic! pheww

Oooh that is great news; it's good to get the ball rolling.

Wishing you all the best
