And anyone else due in early February :cheer:

I just back from the MW< and she said baby is 3/5 engaged! I know baby can still wriggle around and change it's mind, but I wondered if this put me back in the running..... Mermaid I think you said you were engaged - but not sure how much?

I always thought that once "engagement" started that was it!
Was only a matter of time till baby decided it was time to come
along
according to my midwife my baby is "brim"
I am feeling enough pressure as it is God knows what i am goin to be like once babe starts moving down

Oooooo I've not heard "brim" before - did you MW say what that meant? Sounds good anyhow :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: From what I've read babies can get engaged and then get un-enaged, but hmmmmm it's not exactly like I'm an expert lololol. I asked my MW if baby would stay in this position and she said you can never tell lol. Hope it does because it's in a good position to be born.

Do you want to join our early Feb race Treena?

I'll most likely be early Feb when he decides to come. MW has wrote brim on my notes and she said it means the baby is down there in the right position but not started to engage yet. Once babies heads engaged if its your first baby it usually stays there. If its not your first it can pop in and out or not engage till your in labour. Don't know if that made any sence?

I'm due 30th January and my baby is ready to rock and roll (1/5 left to go or 4/5 engaged depending on how you look at it!!)

Been getting that horrible low down "dragging" feeling for a few days and Braxton Hickking all over the place.

However, MW sagely said that Little Ones, even though engaged will happy sit on their heads for several weeks before making the signal to Mum's brain that they want out!!

AND THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT!!!

i was 3/5ths engaged at your stage ginger pig and now im fully engaged!
oh also im due 21st of jan so latest baby can be here is 3rd of feb!

Thanks Kellie, that does make sense! Good to have it cleared up :D I guess it can pop in and out again with a second baby as your abdomen is more pliable than with your first?

Shaz you sound desperate! Hope it's not too much longer for you! I want baby to stay in until its 38 weeks. Sounds like you're getting really close, I guess the Braxton Hicks are a good sign?

You girls want to join our early Feb race?

Oooooo wannabamum you snuck in there lol! You were the same as I was? going to be watching to see how you get on with great interest then lol. How are you doing atm?

ive had a really rubbish time midwife thinks she will be here whithin a week!!
I bet you have the same preganncy as me now till the end hope not becuase ive had a rubbish one!!
will let ya know if anything happens hun!!

Awwwwww I remember you being so poorly and being rushed in, we were all so worried for you, but really pleased you'd gone into hospital! I hope it is only one more week for you and that it's the best week ever

Your post about all of that did make me wonder as I was feeling quite sicky myself, but I've started some raspberry leaf tea and feel really good now.... Probably spoke too soon though *sigh*

Good luck and I'll keep my finger's crossed for you

Woohoo! That's good to know gingerpig! My midwife just said she can't feel any head so that must mean it's all down in the pelvis?! The braxtons are sure preparing my body anyway. I always had a feeling my LO may come early but who knows! :)

Dont think "brim" is as far as engaged. But i'm no expert either
Must say though this site is a fountain of knowledge.
Sometimes think all our heads put together are more informative than
the midwifes (sometimes)

I'm sure you're right Mermaid! It was quite funny today as MW got her fingers much lower than she has before, and it was really painful, but really ticklish at the same time. So I couldn't stop laughing - she must think I'm mad ... I guess she was feeling to see how far in baby's head is though lol. Good for you mermaid, I reckon you'll beat me - even if I do share the feeling that mine will be early. Are you suffering with the BH's?

Treena - my MW has been brilliant, as have my parentcraft classes.... But you're right, there is so much info on this site, it's fantastic! It's so cool as well, because when we do go and see our health professionals, I feel armed with questions! Usually daft questions, and I keep on forgetting the important one of "how big do you think baby is" lolol Very cool forum and lots of lovely people !

Wannbamum, I have pm'd you!

well as this is my 3rd, babys head probably wont engage until labour starts, so that makes me back in the running LOL

i know baby is head down but it aint engaged yet, though my bump is pretty low slung anyway i think

Yeah I think I'm just obsessed with having a low bump now lololol. I've been one of those women who at 6 months you had to look at to check I was pregnant - not because I'm thin, but somehow my size 14 frame swallowed my bump up lololol. So I'm just really excited that something is happening lol.

Anyway, as you're 3rd Sassyminx your labour will be presumably much shorter than us first timers, so I'm jealous already :shakehead:

now im a 14-16 and mine showed from about 16wks quite a lot

my 2nd labour was considerably faster than my 1st, from going to delivery suite to delivering was 3hrs 8)

so im hoping this one will be faster :cheer:

Hmmmmm well I walked into the nurses office the idea for a check-up and she commented on how in proportion my bump is :rotfl: ie I've two enormous sacks of potatoes for boobies and the bump has got serious contenders for size lol. It doesn't feel like the hugest bump ever as it's only just started to get in the way when I'm trying to wash up and things like that.

I reckon you need to get to the delivery suite the night before this time - just in case! Hope it's really easy for you! Has the length of your pregnancy differed at all? Will be interesting to see, but I guess it might be hard to tell if your ovulation is all over the place. :cheer: Here's to a great 3rd labour for you! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Well i may as well join this race if its ok as i'm not due till the 29th and my last baby was 11 days late. I've not had any signs at all the the baby is coming soon. :(

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww (((((((((Kellie))))))))

Good to have you on-board though
