Hello... Nic let me know someone was asking after me + madam!
Scarlett was 9 weeks old on Saturday (37 weeks corrected gestation) and is doing ok. She now weighs 4lb 11oz after having a nightmare struggle to put weight on with us finally giving into her having 1/2 expressed breast milk and half Nutriprem 2 formula. This seems to be working at last.
She is still breathing with the help of oxygen and the plan is for home to come home with oxygen too.

She may also still be tube feeding as she is not a big fan of drinking bottles and turns a lovely shade of blue, forgets to suck swallow breathe, and desats.
Still don't know when we can take her home. Hopefully in a few weeks but we just don't know. Until she stops having these apnoea type attacks frequently throughout the day it's not ideal to bring her home. We have also been told she has chronic lunge disease.
She is having an MRI in 3 weeks to determine the extent of how her brain problem/bleed has damaged her, if at all.
We found out while I was pregnant at 23 weeks (when I went into labour) that she had too much fluid in her brain. I could not face it at the time and not many people knew about this. We went to Kings College London Hospital for tests/amnio/scans and it was also discovered she had a bleed when I was roughly 21 weeks pregnant, during which time I was going through a very stressful ordeal. I found it hard to cope with that the stress could of harmed my baby. So far she seems ok and the fluid on the brain isn't getting worse and the head ultrasounds look ok, we are just praying that the MRI goes well. She has to be sedated for it and the thought terrifies me, she will only be 12 weeks old and barely 6lb going by the way she is gaining weight.
Until we get her home I'm still very scared for her, and she may have alot of problems growing up. We were just unlucky that we had such a poorly 28 weeker, when 28 weekers are normally very strong it seems.
My thoughts go out to the guy posting (mark) who's wife has gone into labour at 23 weeks. The doctors may tell you the outlook isn't fantastic, but these babies are stonger than they think. I know a fair few children born at 23/24 weeks who are now doing brilliantly. I won't lie and say the journey through Intensive care is an easy one, it's a very tough, emotinal journey, but watching your baby grow and get stronger reaps more rewards than you can imagine. I wish you and your wife the very best of luck. I will keep an eye out for you xx
