Safe to use a sunbed in 2ww?

I'm not talking about the high powered salon ones, just the ones you have in your house. If I went on it, it would only be for 5 minutes at a time every 2 days. I know you're not supposed to use them when you're heavily pregnant, but is that just because of the heat?

Hi Cori, not sure on this one but I reckon as long as you dont fry yourself you should be fine!!!

UV light cannot pass into the body - so it won't get anywhere near your womb - possible implanted egg etc. so it is safe enough from this point of view.

I would not use them at all if you was pg
A few years back i use to be addicted to the sunbeds and i would go on them
12minutes 4 times a week the sunshowers yes i know i was Addicted i still got pg when using them
so it never affected my fertility but i dont use them at all now i stick to st tropaz
false tan .... I knew a girl who went on the beds while pg how she got away with it
when she was heavily pg i dont know cause salons dont allow you to use them
but she went on them when she was pg luckily her baby was fine but i would
never recommend it hun not when your pg!!
I think onec you know your in the 2ww dont use them but the first 2wks in your cycle
should be ok xx

Thanks. I just go through a phase about every 6 months where I want to go on it, but it only lasts a few weeks. It doesn't give me much colour, I just go a darker shade of pale

I won't go on it at all when I find out I am pregnant for sure. If I waited till AF though, I would only have about 10 days, that would only give me 4 times to go on it and it wouldn't be worth it.

As a sun bed use to be addict I will give you a few tips
You will never gain a tan from any sunbed no matter how high the tubes are
if your doing only 5min every few days even worse if the tubes arnt that
high so i would recommend you do 12min one day then miss a day then do a day
a bit like baby making then stop when your due to test with opks day 11
apply some cream if your using a home sunbed .. put some baby lotion on

Dry skin will never tan so use some lotion NOT OIL you will get prickle heat
if you use oil so use just baby lotion cream and you will notice your will
start to red then brown xx

Thanks, lol. A few years ago, I went on it for 15 minutes every 2 days for a few weeks and my stomach and back did tan (I still have a tan line where my knickers were even now the tan has faded). It doesn't take long for my stomach to tan, but my arms and legs never tan. Pity, cos those are the main bits I want to tan!

Why wouldn't you use them in the 2ww?

Your legs and your arms are the hardest to tan on a bed belive it or not
(IF YOU DONT CREAM) onec you start to cream your self before you go on
and cream after you been on then you will notice your tan start you will even
see the colour change your arms and legs should be a little red ..
If i dont use cream when being on a sunbed it takes me longer to tan my arms
and legs so i use baby lotion put this on your face too all them places you want
a tan I wouldnt use the sunbeds in the 2ww because i am a missed miscarraige
patient i have lost 9 babies all at 10wks and 8wks pregnant
My babies hearts stop beating due to a blood clotting disorder i recently found
out i have only when pregnant!!

So i have to take asprin and fragmin when i am pregnant so i wouldnt go on them
cause they say they can cause miscarraige cause i use to work in a sunbed shop
and because of my past histroy i wouldnt tempt it myself but thats me i just
wouldnt incase it had some effect on implantation proberely wouldnt !
But thats just the way i am thinking it cant be any good put it that way xx

I get dry skin when I go on it even if I use body lotion, especially in this cold weather and it's not worth it for the amount of colour I will get. I won't bother between AF and ov either, cos I don't want to have sore dry skin when it's time to BD!

Aww hun i hope i have not put you off everyone is different hun
you do what you think is best for you its nice to have a little tan i wish i could go on them
again i look like a ghost but its just my past history that puts me off
but for the first 11 days i would if i was you hun like i said although it says they are not
safe to use when ttc i know others and i did myself use years back while ttc and they never
stop me from being pg it was just when my doctor said you go on a lot of holidays
and then i confessed i use the sunbeds and he said to stay away while tcc
hence did i NO! but now i am a lot older lot wiser and lost more babies i just dont use
them because of my history thats all hun girls use them not expecting to get pg
every day of the week and they get pg and there fine xxxx

No, you haven't put me off. If I really wanted to use it I would. I just don't think it's worth the risk and the dry skin for the amount of colour it will give me. I might change my mind in a couple of weeks though - I'm fickle lol.
