I thought Katy had got into her own little routine. She was feeding roughly every 3 hours & napping for around 45 mins after she had been up for between 2 & 3 hours. She would sleep through from about 8ish until between 3.30am & 4.30am, have a feed then go back to sleep til 7 or 7.30am. These were all flexible but it was pretty predictable & we both knew where we were most of the time!! :)

Now its all changed!! She doesn't want to nap although she is knackered, sometimes she skips a feed & she is up at least twice a night..........ARGH!!

Has anyone else experienced this kind of pattern?

What routines do you all have????

i wouldn't get hett up about a routine chick. Its not worth it. Go with what bubba wants - shes still quite young and its hard to get a routine going until bubbas about 9 months old IME.

Does she maybe need more grub in the day? are you breast feeding or bottle. If you're bottle feeding maybe she needs more -

I'm not too fussed really, just want Katy to be happy......every day we have so many"conversations" that go:
Katy - "I'm so tired Mummy"
Mummy - "Go to sleep then darling"
Katy - "I don't want to"
:D
I know shes exhausted & she used to go down for naps etc really well.
Katy is now bottle fed, & I don't think she takes enough at each feed, but I can't force her to drink more than she wants!?! :?

is she on sloids yet? maybeshe needs some :)

She has been having baby rice for a couple of weeks now & loves it............she still drinks the same amount of milk & has this on top. She would eat it & eat it I think as shes never seemed that big on milk, but she bawls her head off when shes finished her rice.

I'm quite aware though that it would be all too easy to give her more rice but I don't want her to take any less milk than she already does.

She only weighs 12lb 8ozs budge, how much rice do you think is ok to give her? :)

Thanks for the help BTW, I really appreciate it hun

shes a little munchkin isn't she.

I wouldn't give her oo much solids. Maybe try her with some before bed time. Try giving her some milk - just a smidgen then a bit of rice and then some more milk.
Maybe she is getting hungry in the night. Givung her rice before bed might take the edge off her hunger. :)

I am very interested in the answer as well. I started Ellie in solids 3 days ago (4months exactly). I am starting with baby rice and first of I gave her 2 teaspoons mixed with 2 tablespoons of my milk. The next day she had 3 teaspoons and today she had 4 teaspoons of baby rice. She absolutely loves it. I am giving her 1 solid meal a day (lunch) in addition to her normal milk feeds. Planning on starting to introduce veg soon.

I will try that tomorrow budge & see how she gets on, you're right, she is a little munchkin.....just likes to worry her mummy!!

Nicky, I started Katy a little early basically so she was getting more milk with the baby rice. She has 2tsp's in the morning & 3tsp's in the afternoon after a milk feed. I gave her pureed pear this week, which she was ok with, & she tried apple this morning, which she preferred to the pear. Firm fav at the mo is pear puree mixed with baby rice & milk.......think she'd eat it all day if I let her little monkey!!

She absolutely adores eating, much prefers it to drinking!!

Am thinking maybe I ought to give her more, but I don't want to give her too much...........will start a thread in the feeding & nutrition section unless you have already!! :)
