I took Connor for his 8 month check yesterday and when I was asked how weaning was going, I said "fine, he eats what I eat - I've done baby led weaning", the lady broke into a huge smile and actually clapped me
She said she sees so many babies who have problems with lumps and bits in their food after starting on purees, and she can't understand why more people wouldn't use the BLW method. She didn't know much about the practicalities of BLW though and I'm the first mum who's actually come in and told her that they're doing it; I spent a while telling her about the research behind it all and she wrote notes, LOL.
She also loved the fact that I wear Connor most of the time.
It all made up for the fact that when I arrived at the appointment and undressed Connor, I found that he'd pooed (despite going just before we'd left) and I didn't have a spare nappy or wipes or anything
