we are thinking about going there for our honeymoon!

Absolutely beautiful I went in August 2010. It was absolutely boiling though at 33+ degrees at that time of year. But it's just soooooo romantic. Sitting outside cafes/restaurants with a wee vino and just watching the world go by...ahhhhh.

The buildings are beautiful and the typical touristy things to see are amazing. I loved it. xx

We went for a day during our honeymoon in sorrento..

It's absolutely beautiful! We are gonna go back for a city break next year at some point...

When we went it was very hot (38 degrees!!) I got burnt just walking about even though I had factor 30 on lol.. Colosseum is amazing, as are all the other sights. Be prepared for crowds and queues for main sights, and food footwear - they say that you could spend 2 weeks there and not see everything!!. No matter what time of year there are so many people. Also quite expensive we were

I haven't been to rome but I've been to Venice and I adore the place!! I'd like to go back next year with a friend if I can afford it. I can't even explain how amazing it is!

Love Rome! Would definately go back, and its well worth paying a bit extra to get a tour guide when doing the coloseum and the vatican as we got so much more out of it and didnt have to queue would definately go back x

Rome is the best place on Earth. Go for it! We went to the Maldives for our honeymoon, but I prefer Rome a million times over it.

Rome is heaven, I'd go back in a heartbeat (have been several times over the years and I have never been bored!! I keep wanting to go somewhere else in Italy BUT we always end up back in Rome LOL!)

It is a lovely honeymoon destination, make sure you go for a good amount of time though so you can fit in all the sights but have some relaxation / romantic time as well.

I went for 3 days last time and walked for 8 hours everyday...

where is the best place to go? as i have no idea what to search..

I would start by looking at deals, then entering the hotels into Trip Advisor and seeing how they are rated.

We stayed quite out of the way last time (we were close to the overground train station the Termini) but you could still walk everywhere from our hotel - Vatican City was about an hours walk and that was the sight that was furthest away!! Rome also has a fab underground system so if you don't fancy wasting your energy walking to the toursit sites you just jump on that.

What I loved to distraction was just walking up and down the streets randomly and getting to know the place. We got quite a central hotel and made our way through the city, it was glorious

Oh yes, and the best place to eat is 'I Buoni Amici', very very cheap, but the best food I've ever had.

It was for 5 nights, and just me and OH! After I posted this I went on to hotel reviews and they didn't seem that good! So kinda just going to keep looking!

Raddissons are expensive! I wouldn't pay out too much fir a hotel as ur be out in the city the whole time, u just need a base x
