Reflux

Little Annabelle Boo has reflux.

she is on ranitidine which helps but wasnt totally stopping it....so today i called the doc and he is putting her on something else on top to stop her being sick. as apparently the ranitidine only stops the acid hurting and not always the sick itself from coming up (sorry if tmi)

has anyone else had any experience of these?? i feel bad giving her meds so young, but i feel worse when she looks so uncomfortable and then shes sick all over her clothes all the time.

PS..the health visitor yesterday said dont give infacol with ranitidine at all. and the doctor today said infacol is definitely fine with ranitidine!!! just shows how HVs dont actually know everything

Toby has Gaviscon, which has helped for the most part, it is a faff giving it as the package says, also I couldn't get it down him so I ended up putting it in milk and bottle feeding it before each feed with his colief

I would ask the pharmacist about combining ranitidine and infacol...

We used baby gaviscon at first and it made her too constipated

^ no one warned me about that one!! Fortunately Toby doesn't seem constipated, I thought it was his gut settling as it happened at 6 weeks, until I saw the nappy of a child a day younger and then it clicked!!
