Really ticked off with stupid doctor!

I'm really fed up..have been suffering fromm unbearable itching last few weeks, it's worse in the evenings and on my arms & legs, hands and feet. I phoned and made a Dr app 2 wks ago, but couldn't get in till today with the Dr I wanted..well turned up there today to find out my Dr was off sick so had been bumped onto another ones list. This woman is bloody useles, have seen her before and she's awful, so i knew it would be a waste of time. She didn't do blood pressure, blood test, temp, examination , nothign! she said it's prob dry skin and i said no its not, i moisturise every day. I told her I'd read about obstetric cholestasis and wanted a blood test and she said no..she wanted to rule out dry skin first! I told her I didn't agree and thought she was wrong, but she completely ignored me and gave ne prescription for moisturiser and told me to come back in a couple wks if its still bothering me. Why the hell should I? If i can make the effort to go down there they should at least try find out the cause, she didn't ask me any questions about how i feel so howe can she possibly make a diagnosis?...how I didn't lose my temper with her i don't know!

Ring your hospital and speak to a midwife, they wanted me to go straight in when i had itching. I got the bloods aswell. Don't tell them you have been to see the doctor just ring them and say your very worried and the itching is severe. xxx

I agree with Shauna. Call the hospital. When I had itching they told me to go straight up and did a blood test, loads of other tests and put me on a monitor for half hour. Had to wait around for blood results for a while but was worth it to know what was going on. Thankfully for me it was just dry skin xx

my friend had itching and it was her hands and feet and she had to be monitered right till she gave birth hers was somthing to do with bile in the blood and has to be watched.. But i do know some ppl just get itching cause of skin stretching and thing i agree with others get it double checked x

I can't be bothered now, had a nightmare of a day..and gotta wait in for a mattress to be delivered tomorrow so will have to do it wednesday. really irritates me though, stupid doctor shoulda done bloods while i was there, why should i have to go and hang around in day unit when i had an appointment? Useless!!

Em im not 100% she wasnt allowed to go over her due date or somthing because of it x

I would definitely get it checked out. When I had bad itching the MW took bloods to check I didn't have that liver disorder. xx

I had OC with my son who is nearly 10, and i had read in a magazine about it when i was 3 months pg, i was diagnosed with an overactive thryoid and the side affects of that were itching. When i was 35 weeks pg i had itchy soles of my feet and palms of my hands, told my mum and she said it was prob my thryoid but i went to see my midwife and she did blood test and sent me straight to hospital as i had OC and my son was delivered at 37 weeks. But the dr said it could happen again when i have another baby.
So go to a&e and get it checked out.
