I wouldn't try to full time express if you have the option to bf as its bloody hard work.

Someone may come along with more info but I'm sure once you get by the 6 week mark bottles and dummies are fine so I you can hold off till the it will be fine.

Please excuse any typos from my fat fingers!
Tapatalk madness!

I wouldn't worry too much about using bottles while bf. Sebastian went back into hospital when he was 3 days and had to express to top up his feeds. He had it in a bottle and hasn't had any problems switching between them. When we got home decided to express so oh could do a night feed before he went to work, but l I found that oh couldn't get him to take his bottle so I'd end up feeding him anyway! As for a dummy Sebastian just spits it out.

Nipple confusion is vey rare. In fact aids prevention advice in the states advises
A dummy from
Birth!!

On my iPhone - so cant see tickers :(

I would try dummy but my lo.never took one. However, when i tried in the early days, he tried to latch differently and it hurt like hell so i stopped. Just use common sense

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

Thanks ladies! Its fab to have all this advice to hand!! X

I'm breastfeeding lo and have used a dummy from birth and she will also takea bottle, she has no trouble switching between xxx

My lo was bf, bottle fed and used a dummy from under a week old with no problems

My eldest was given an expressed bottle very early on and didn't have nipple confusion.

I stupidly didn't give Bethan an expressed bottle until see was nearly 3 months old and she point blank refused the bottle. I have spent a small fortune on trying different bottles and spent a lot of time stressing out about it!

If I had my time again I would have introduced a bottle as soon as I was able to express

I breastfeed but have used a bottle for expressed milk since LO was two weeks old with no problems. We don't use a dummy. Try to feed as much as you can and on demand for the first six weeks or so as your baby will be establishing your supply. I had to express as well in the early weeks because my supply was very slow in starting and LO was losing weight, but some people say don't worry about expressing until LO is at least six weeks old. Sorry, I don't know how old your LO is so forgive me if I'm giving irrelevant advice. xxx
