in a few hours it will be 3rd of december, and that means i will have gone two whole months without taking any drugs (we werent tcc and i stopped as soon as i knew i was pg). i kno lots of people manage that all the time, but for me its really something because its the longest i've gone since i was 15 (thats 11 years!) and it was a weekly (for some years even daily) habit, and i did everything (even the really bad one).
i was worried my lifestyle had made me a bad mother before i even give birth, but i've found it easier than i would hav thought and i'll NEVER go back to how i was. i also eat more healthily and drive more carefully but the main thing is this and I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF.

:cheer:

ps i hope no-one hates me for disclosing this, i am ashamed to say i wasnt perfect anyway and i am a really nice person! i was debating whether or not to put this up coz of peoples reactions but i'm just so pleased with my achievement i HAD to share it!

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

well done you! I think you are right to be proud of yourself, you have done really really well and I am sure that there are a lot ofpeople that wouldn't have given up so it just shows that you are going to be a fab mummy as you are already doing the best for you baby! I am sure everyone has skeletons in their closets and so I am sure noone will judge you! I was a smoker until two days before I found I was pregnant and I am proud that I have had no slips either!

congratulations   :cheer: :cheer:

Well done..We have all done things we aren't proud of but changing your life for your baby is something to be really proud of...glad you shared

Here here! That's a real achievement. You should be really proud and you're giving your little baby the best start in life.
Well done!

Hey, we've all done it. I didn't find out I was pg with Kayleigh until I was 14 weeks, and lets just say that I wasn't an angel in those weeks.

I'm happy to say that I haven't touched any drugs since the day the doc told me I was having a baby 14 years ago. Oh, apart from the first New Years Eve I spent without her when she was about 4. I had a little hiccup  in a pub toilet, but learnt my lesson when I was speaking to the big white telephone on the chime of midnight! My DH was also taking stuff he shouldn't have when we met, but stopped that when we got engaged.

Well done for stopping hun!  And thanks for sharing - that took guts!

YAY well done!

I was living a party lifestyle on an island in Thailand when I found out I was 4 1/2 months pregnant with my first. (OH had had a vasectomy before I met him so I didn't think it was possible)

Well done to you, that's a fabulous achievement, and something baby can be very proud of when he/she grows up! So cool that you're making changes to ALL areas of your life too, driving, eating etc, show's you're really committed

well done, you have achieved something amazing !!!!

I used to work with female drug uses in residential care and I saw the effects it had on their babies being born .... having to spend time in hospital detoxing themselves ... not a nice thing to have to go through within your first few weeks of life ,

You should be so proud of yourself. You are giving your new baby such a wonderful start in life. This baby is going to be very blessed having such a lovely mum !!!!!!!

aww made up for ya hunnie.
i still find it hard leaving achole behind (i still have the occasional pint/glass of wine) nothing like i used to be tho - feel so much better for it too.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Have you noticed any positive effects?

I gave up smoking as soon as I knew I was pregnant (after 20 odd years), and had a tough time at first. Then I just concentrated on feeling virtuous, and now finally I'm noticing that I feel healthier in general, and can therefore actually feel that my baby must be in a better space than he/she would have been otherwise.

I know how hard it is to give up a habit - hope you feel really proud!

well done you and keep up the good work you are very strong to be able to do this for your baby and it will be so worth it xx

You really should be proud of yourself    What an acheivement, i wish you all the best in keeping it up. WELL DONE!!!!!!

You should be proud of yourself chick, thats brillant

I stopped anti depressants when I found out I was PG and found it hard sometimes to cope, especially when I am frightened about the birth, but know I am doing whats best for bubba, and me.

You have every right to feel proud, and I am sure you can see by everyones replies how proud we all are of you too :cheer:
