Back to work tomorrow after being off due to sickness. Not hundred percent better, been throwing up alot past couple of days. I feel really worried that I'm not going to cope with 12.5 hour shift. I get exhausted after a trip to the supermarket :(

awww no cant u go back to your gp and tell him you r not up 2 going bk 2 work !! thats long hours hun i had 2 stop doing them ho many weeks r u x

I'm 12 weeks, I think I will go and see someone in work tomorrow as I know I'm really going to struggle. Also will be working nights. Quite high pressure environment too as I work on labour ward. Are employers meant to change working hours if you feel are struggling? I'm rubbish with all that sort of stuff, rights etc xxx

in my risk assesment hours where talked about and i got mine reduced

Hi Jessy. Bless you sweets. Nights are rotten at the best of times never mind when you are feeling the way you are at the mo. When you are in work can you access your Trusts maternity policy to see if it mentions anything about altering hours? Core shifts - but then I suppose you would be doing more of them. Could you request days or nights, whichever you find easier or quieter at least until you feel a bit better (Although I imagine on labour ward nights are not necessarily quieter than days!)?

Good luck for tomorrow xx
