Goddamm fox in sox and mr knox and his bloody box.
Talk about a tongue twister.

And here'sa new trick Mr Knox
Socks on chicks and chicks on fox
Fox on clocks on bricks and blocks
bricks and blocks on Knox on box

used to hate that one :rotfl:

We try and read to her in both Dutch and English. But, to be quite honest, all she's interested in is ripping pages off and putting them in her mouth  .

I read to Jake but he just fidgits his arse off. OH loves it tho

Jake does like the books with textures or those with sounds. He even tries to feel non-textured books.

OMG Fox in Sox I love it! havent read that since I was about 9!!! Green eges and ham and all that too! Im such a goon! :rotfl:

sarah whats that book caled, i think brian would like reading something like that to out Lo, he loves props

We've been reading with our littlie since day one. OH reads to her from his collection of wildy inappropriate literature (The Chronicles of Conan for example, lol!), but she seems to like it.

She loves the textured books from Usborne http://www.usborne.co.uk/catalogue/browse.asp?subject=B&subcat=BCB&id=2128 her current favourite is Baby Monster, but we have quite a few in the series. April loves to touch the book and crinkle it. (and eat it!)

I've read to Thea since she was a bump. Her favourite book is still Guess how much i love you which is the book i read to her the most while i was pregnant. Its so cute she knows the words now and reads it with me lol. We have hundreds of books for her, you can tell how much she loves to have a story because when we were at the shops the other day i told her she could have a toy and out of everything in the shop she picked a book :)

I have started reading a bedtime story to Finn in the hope that a breastfeed, story and sleep will help him fall asleep on his own. I'm reading him Usborne Fairy Tales at the moment.

He likes the "That's not my..." range too and we have That's not my dragon/kitten/robot/car/monkey.

A really nice book for kids is "The big red bath" by Julia Jarman. http://www.juliajarman.com/pages/books3.htm She came to the school I was working in and did the assembly and with this book, had even great big bolshy year 7 children enthralled!

It's SO important to read to your children though from the start (and I'm ashamed to say that I haven't been very pedantic about it  )
When you get to 8 months, your HV does a developmental check on your baby and you get 2 free books from BookStart.

I am reading to baby started at about 20 weeks I read books that rhyme and have a kind of sing song rhythm the idea being she might recognise the rhythm when shes born and find me reading them comforting. I love books and really want LO to love books!

thats my favourite book. I used to try to read it to Jessica but she was never interested, or so it seemed. But she does love books in general.
One night a few months ago, I was going to bed and I whispered into her room, night night, love you and I heard her whisper, 'i love you up to the moon and back'.. Lump is in my throat thinking about it.

its only recently that jack's stopped doing that :rotfl:.

He didnt seem to interested when he was younger its only now that he wants me to

we have loads of booked for oran he loves ''stories'' and lights up when you say that word, he brings you books in the day and then hold his arms up to get on your knee while you read them.

His fave is ''I like it when......'' at the min as we act it out, like I like it when you hold me hand, so he does etc etc, and the first words book he loves (I test him pmsl) and the ITNG song book :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:
