hi girls

I use to come on this thread and am now pregnant (37 weeks) and on maternity leave so thought i would come back onto this forum and tell you my story to give you some hope, as I remember how hard it was trying to concieve.

We started trying after I didn't go back for a depo-provera contraception shot, so my periods were all over the place. They finally got back to some sort of pattern, but still no BFP. So, we went back to doctors and insisted on tests. They tried to put us off for ages, saying we had to wait for a year etc, and finally, in the same month, I had the blood test to see if I was ovulating and my hubby had semen analysis tests.

Doctors said I couldn't have ovulated in September as my score was too low AND my hubby's sperm morphology was low - we were both devastated, BUT low and behold - we got a BFP that very same month.

So ... don't despair if you do seek medical testing because all these tests have different elements and 'standards' which don't relate to everyone and have millions of variables.

And for early signs, I tested when my period was 2 days late as I felt horrendously sick and had 'period type' pains and was feeling tired. Having said that lots of friends had NO symptoms early on but still got a BFP so everyone is different.

Good luck to everyone and feel free to write back if you need some more support.

One more bit of advice, don't bother doing any tests until you a few days late, it will only make you sad if its a BFN, and who knows, the tests always say they can detect pregnancy 4 days before etc etc, but waiting till you are late gives a much better %!
