ranitidine question

For those of you who's lo's have been prescribed ranitidine how much do you give and how often? I just dropped a prescription off at the pharmacy and they mentioned that it wad a tiny dose and asked who prescribed it. I'm wondering if the doctor made a mistake as he had his calculator out trying to work out the dosage based on lo's weight. I can't pick the prescription up until tomorrow so will ask then but would be good to know how much others give.

Depends on baby's weight hun.

We were initially prescribed 0.5ml 3 times a day when she weighed around 14lbs if I remember correctly. Then it was doubled to 1ml but that was the very maximum when she was 16lbs plus I think.

That was from 75mg in 5ml of medication.

Sounds like the dr got it right then. My LO is 10lb and we have been told to give 0.3 to 0.4mls 3 x a day.

My doctors worked out 0.48 mls for my 8lb baby. Xx
