I have had really terrible indigestion every evening over the last week. It's so uncomfortable. I was wondering whether anyone here has taken ranitidine during pregnancy?
I was on it before I got pregnant because I've always had a very sensitive stomach and struggled with indigestion from time to time. I am hoping it's OK to use during pregnancy and that it might provide some relief. Anyone have any experience with this?

Ranitadine or Zantac is fine in pregnancy.

I was on omeprazole 40mg prior to pregnancy dr cut me to 20mg but I only used these on very bad days. If I used ranitadine or Zantac or gaviscon it wouldn't dent the pain.

yes you can use ranitidine if you need it but I'd maybe speak to your gp to check the dosage. I used it prepregnancy and have tried to cut it out but gaviscon just isn't touching my reflux so I've got a gp app this week to double check my ranitidine dosage

my midwife also said you can take omeprazole but it's never agreed with me

I’ve been on ranitidine for over a month now, which was recommended by my consultant. Nothing else was touching the heartburn and I was in agony! I take 150mg a day. Hope that reassures you xx

Thank you, lovely ladies! I did give my GP a wee call and she assured me that it was fine. As with all these things she said there aren't a load of clinical trials because it is hard to do clinical trials on pregnant women. But they do not consider rantidine to pose any dangers during pregnancy. So, yay! Hopefully this will ease things a little.
Thanks for all your help!

Its more unethical really to trial when an unborn human life is involved.

Hope the ranitadine helps!
