You'd think id be a pro at this by now BUT.....

Tis first month ive used anything but CB opks with the smiley face.
Dec = christmas skintness so i have downgraded for this month.....

Now..... the lines....

I know wen ur ov it is a definate line..... the same darkness/ or darker than test line..... I am not clever...i just nosey too much on these threads

My question is....in everyones experience:
Wen ur leading up to ov do the lines get darker and darker each day?
Or is it pretty much all over place and then definate line on the actual day?

Just cuz im meant to ov on friday and last sat i had quite a dark line but def not dark as the test line...then since then its been faint and then non existant and then faint agen and then bit dark and then non existant agen....

Im stressing out and im crabby.

Please help with your very knowledgable braincells.

Hey Hun,

I used the chepie OPK's and yes they get progressivly darker due to the surge....

My line was as dark as the control line and I took that as my positive....

Let me know if you have any other questions or if I have been to vague!!

Hi kez sorry i have only just seen this hun.

If your opk was same colour as test line then you can consider this your positive. Some dont get darker than control line but they get almost as near as the control line colour & you consider this your positive. Now if was no where near as dark or same colour as the control line but it was quite pink then i would consider testing & testing 3 times a day so you dont miss the surge, as you can its very easy to miss your peak surge too. So i use to test at 12, 4, 8 pm & if i had lots of opks i would test at 10 too lol so test 3times per day from cd10 if you can hun.

Wow thats a lot of times but im glad u sed that cuz coulpe of days ive been so obsessed with worrying bout missing surge ive tested twice. My OH thawt this was slightly 'crazy lady' behaviour lol. and so he has hid my OPKs and gives me my daily allowance once a day!
Teehee.
But now i can tell him infact i am not obsessively loopy! And that 3 times a day is totally normal and sane

Now my dilema is..... where do u get cheapy OPK strips from as i think this new plan of action my break the bank a little? At mo ive gone down to using normal boots OPKs after using CB digi ones for months and months. But even the boots ones are £12 for 7.
Does any1 know if can get cheapy cheapy ones??

I find the opk cheapies very stressful. I have invested in a CBFM as I definitely find pinpointing my OV day a nightmare. I got my cheapies on Amazon. You can get cheap HPTs there too. I can't remember though how much they were. Probably about £7 or so for 30 OPKs and £3 for 15 HPTs.

I've used One step opks from Amazon for 2 months now and tested 3 times a day when I knew I was getting closer to ov. I got faint lines for a couple of days, then a couple of mornings ago, I got a line that was almost as dark as the control, but the next 2 lines got lighter and now they've virtually gone, so i'm taking that as my surge - if I hadn't been testing 3 times a day I would've missed it though... Hope this helps a bit... xx
