Quick question, I need a quick answer pleeeeeease help!!

I've got the flu and I wanna get better as soon as possible so that i don't pass it onto my baby. I got Beechams All In One. Is it ok to use it while I'm breastfeeding? the notice says seek advice from doctor if breastfeeding but i can't get hold of my doctor at this time.

it contains paracetamol and paracetamol is ok for breastfeeding so i think it's ok but what do you think?

I wouldn't TBH, the paracetomol might be OK but there's other stuff in it too.

I'd call NHS Direct if in doubt. They can answer if its suitable I am sure. I'd not like to say. The pack says to consult your Doc first, so I'd be wary at least.

TBH if its flu you'd be on your back in bed with a temp and not fit for anything. Is it possible its more like a stinking cold/viral infection that's hitting you hard? If so maybe a nice bath, menthol crystals or some such to clear your chest? Tea with honey and lemon to sooth a bad throat?

Paracetamol is always good for bringing down your temp anyways.

i dont know the answer to your question but Ami didnt get the flu-ey thing that we had and she has a virtually non existant immune system and has poorly lungs which makes her really susceptable. hopefully Kenzo wont catch it either.

i was astonished that she didnt get it to be honest.

when I had the flu a few weeks ago, I asked the pharmacist in my local chemist if there was anything I could take while BFing, and she told me no.

She said the best thing to do was to take some paracetamol and have a drink of honey and lemon juice with hot water...

i'd hav thought if ur ill now but kenzo isnt, the breast milk is good for him coz it will contain antibodies for that particular flu strain?

yes definately. i'm sure kenzo will be fine thanks to breastmilk. but I wanna feel better!!!

Hope you are feeling a little better now! I know it's hard, I have just got over being really ill and all I had was paracetamol. Tea with honey and lemon helped a little too!
