Hi all
My OH has found a break to butlins for me him and LO in april
i was just wondering what the prices are like once your there.. like drinks? go carting ? anything like this? has anoyone been and any ideas on how much spending money we would need for 4 nights self catering for the 3 of us? Amelia will be 4 months so will not cost alot but we would like to do some activities and that if you have any ideas girls? its the one in bognor regis. thanks in advanced! xxxx

I been that one throughly enjoyed it! I went with 2 other adults and a child, in all from fri to a mon (self catering) we only spent around £300! that may seem a lot, for a couple days but we did loads and thats including food!!!!!

We have been to the one in minehead, and we did spend alot on site, but i enjoy playing in the arcades etc which eat up your money. The one in minehead is not far from the town so we would walk into have breakfast in a cafe there rather than on site, not sure if you can do that sort of thing in bognor regis one.

Sorry i know thats not much help lol.

hun

you can spend as little or as much as u like at butlins.

Food is most expensive thing when at bultins but they have chip shop, burger king or you can cook in your appparment should u have kitchen?
The go karts are £4 i think, drink again not too bad price.

My advice would be to go Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. It doesn't cost much extra but then you don't have to spend much money whilst your there. It's buffet style and there is plenty of choice even for fussy eaters like OH! Daniel has been 5 times already - he was 4 months old when we first took him. They even provide baby food should you have started weaning by then.

For value for money you just won't beat Butlins, we are going again in April (to Skegness) with both sets of parents and we have paid under £400 for 6 adults and a toddler thats having 3 separate chalets too (couldn't share with either set of parents!). There is plenty to do on site they even have a baby room with play mats , baby gyms etc. Bognor town centre is only ten mins walk along the seafront, there is a great crazy golf there, a pier and shops.

Can you tell I'm a BUtlins fan! Hope you enjoy it if you go ) xx

I hate it. Really really hate it.

Only been once, May 2007, with DH and Lydia (I was pg with Alex)

we all got horrific food poisoning, the runs, vomiting, you make it, and left early, and I had to drive back with gut-wrenching pain in my tummy.

the food was (apart from giving us a bug) just average. Nothing special at all.

The entire place was like a huge casino. Slot machines everywhere, and to get to the TINY TINY indoor soft-play area for children, which was ridiculously overcrowded for a start, you had to walk through a big room full of gamblers and smoke (although I suppose the smoking law will have stopped that now but even so).

And not only that, but because it was Skegness it was fooking FREEZING every time we stepped outside, and you've got to walk down this ridiculously long road thing outdoors to get to the dinner hall from your bedroom.

I would never go back. It's overpriced whilst you are there, shabby, food is substandard (made us ill!), and there's nothing to do apart from gamble.

I went on an adult only weekend to Bognor (It was FANTASTIC). We had Breakfast and dinner in the price. TBH the long weekend was a bit of a blur  but I don't think I spent that much.

There is a pool there and the town centre was only a short walk along the seafront. I wouldn't go for the cheapest rooms. The accomodation was a bit poor, not very secure and the curtains didn't cover the entire widow  .The self catering will be better I should think  .

Thanks for all the replies! sorry you got food poisoning xena sounds rough!!! and sorry you didnt enjoy it! i love english budget holidays lol give me a tent and a feild and a pack of cards and im happy!

Weve booked it! to go april 27th for me my OH and my bro and his gf and Amelia (sharing a shalet not bothered about the room) it only cost 135 pounds! its half price at the mo so id book now! thats about 70 quid per couple, bargain!opted for self catering and going to head to the supermarket and getsome bits and mainly eat in the shalet but also my bro is taking the car so we can always drive somewhere else to eat.

Thanks for all the advice again ladies, looking forward to our first break with little Amelia!!! xx
