Hi all. Does anyone know the exact figures for the reduction in likelihood of miscarrying once you have seen the baby's heartbeat? I know that the likelihood is reduced but I just wondered by how much? Thanks and have a lovely weekend.

i read that in my book and i think its something like 3pct....

Sami would probably know the answer to this one, she is good on facts and figures!!

Hi hun,

Sorry I meant to find this out before but I didn't...

Once 8 or 9 weeks are reached and the baby's heart beat is seen on a scan there is only a 4% to 5% chance of miscarriage, which decreases as time goes by. If a hearbeat is seen before 8 weeks (between 6-8 weeks) then the risk is still only about or less than 10%.

Hope that helps
