Question - Shop returns?

I brought a lamp from B&Q about 6weeks ago. i have thrown the box away and dont have the reciept.
but it has stopped working?
can i return it for a new one?

not being stupid but have you checked the fuse etc.... as i once took a kettle back and it was the fuse that had blown

yes i changed the fuse 3 times the bulb 3 times. every thing.

i swutched it on and it flickered as if it blown but now it wont work atall

If you paid for it on you card you can take a bank statement as proof of purchase. They should let you bring it back, i work for Argos (not the same i know) and usually without proof of purchase & when its faulty we can give your money back on a gift card or exchange for a new one

i did pay by card but not just for the lamp? the card payment was for about £55?

I know its been answered but yeh just want to confirm that they dont have to refund with no recipt (if you had recipt they would have to refund seen as faulty) but they HAVE to exchange as the product is ''not fit for purpose'' so legally you win!

i changed it for the same one got home built it and the plastic bit the bulb goes into is snapped so i am marching in there tomorrow!!!

i am getting my living room wallpapered tomorrow so i wanted my lamp grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

as soon as i showed kris the pic of you house he wa like "i neeeeeed that lamp" then i forgot about it untill i was in b&q
