Hi Skatty!
Glad to offer my services
Cellulite is one of those hideous things that your either prone too or not! Some women have hardly any where as other women have loads
Unfortunately the increase in cellulite is probably down to your hormones Skatty, an increase in a hormone such as the pregnancy one causes cellulite to be laid down. The most important thing to remember though is prevention is always better than cure!
Here are some tips that I advise my clients of when trying to beat cellulite, although please bear in mind that if your one of those women that does suffer it will probably never COMPLETELY disappear. But you can definately improve it.
1. Dry Body Brush.
Yes, this does help. Use a firm, stiff, brush and brush in upwards, circular movements towards the heart. Do this everyday for at LEAST ten minutes.
Body brushing is fab because it helps to disperse the toxins that cause cellulite and also exfoliates the skin, giving it a smoother, firmer texture.
2. Avoid fatty, spicy foods, (and alcohol and tobacco, I know you dont consume these but its worth putting in for others.)
These add to the levels of toxins in the body and therefore prevent the dispersal of the fat cells.
Unfortunately dieting cannot eliminate or prevent cellulite but eating a good diet which is low in fat and high in fibre means that you're eating less fat so there's less left over to store around the body.
3. Try and exercise!
Boring I know, but an active lifestyle is brilliant for preventing the formation of cellulite.
4. Drink Green Tea.
This stuff is ace! You may not like the taste but it is a great anti-oxidant.
Anti-oxidants are anti-ageing and healing so not just good for cellulite but for all round health.
5. Have a massage, preferably a 'Lymphatic Drainage' one.
Lymphatic drainage massage helps to remove all waste and toxins from the skins underlying tissues, helping again with the dispersal of fat cells. Because the skin is also being freed from waste skin looks and feel firmer and tighter, excess water retention is removed and some people actually lose inches. I do a lot of LD massage on my clients and it is relaxing, healing and detoxifying.
6. Invest in a 'DECENT' cellulite cream.
The patches and strips are RUBBISH dont even bother, its the actual massaging in of the cream that does has the most benefit with cellulite.
Look for creams that contain green tea extract, algae (which works on the same principle as green tea) vitamin A (restores skin's texture) and Vitamin E (healing.)
The best cellulite cream I have ever used personally is Clarins Body Shaping Cream. I also use the Body Tonic Treatment Oil which is brilliant for use in pregnancy, it works along similar lines to Bio-Oil that you may have heard of, its just more concentrated.
I hope this helps you!! Feel free to ask me anything else you want to know ladies
