How the hell do you wash them lol

We just got a saab 9-3 convertable, and its lush, but we cant take it through a carwash so will use a jetwash instead, but how do we wash the roof? How dumb am I lol

The same way you would normally as long as it doesnt leak, After all you it gets rained on and doesnt cause any problems.

Just exactly the same as you would was h a normal car hun

S. xx

Yeah I thought so lol but you know when you just wonder?

Ok going to hide in the corner now

yept he same but afaik you can get special shampoo for it

I always took mine to the hand wash, I dont trust car washes!!

You don't need to wash the roof everytime you wash the car (depending how often you wash the car of course!).

Get some Autoglym Cabriolet Care stuff from Halfords, it has a bottle of cleaner and a special sponge, and then a bottle of protector spray to help keep it waterproof.

This website has very good products for soft tops...

The plastic rear windscreen polish is amazing, but yours may be glass?

Hope that helps.

Thats really helpful kitty thanks, taking it for its first bath tomorrow so I'll pick some up :D

i just wash mine myself..car washes arnt good for your paintwork if used too much...i use autoglym products they are fantastic..oh and never take your car to a tesco handwash...they was (not dry) with a leather and too many times have i seen them was from bottom to top  if they are going to make money for washing cars they really should be trained to do it properly..too many people think a sponge and throwing some water on a car any old way is washing it..when it really ends up looking worse!

Also worth mentioning...

If you do happen to take it through a car wash as a matter of desperation, DO NOT get a programme with wax. It will ruin the roof!

Best to avoid the car wash completely.

Thanks for all the tips, we wont be using carwashes not just cos I hate the way they ruin the paintwork overtime but none round here are suitable for soft-tops (im assuming none are?), but we will use the jetwash instead (easy to leave the roof out) and be picking up some of that stuff you suggested for the roof. First one today I feel all exited lol how sad is that?

dont worry hun i see your excitement!! we take our track car to french car show and pug fest etc and i love getting it all shiney for show :D

well her first bath went well, shes all shiny and lovely now (got soooo dirty in just a week lol) and we put the top down for a bit today as the sun was out - love it hehe
