my HV- bless her- is lovely, and goes out of her way to try to help me, but sometimes she seems to kno little more than me!

when i ask "could it be..." "do i need to..." "is it because..." etc i just get "yes, maybe/perhaps/possibly"! and its just as vague as my own conclusion!

so i thought id ask what u guys think maybe ill get a more definite answer!

some of u may be aware millie has recently started waking lots in the nite after being able to go from 8pm til 8am with only one feed. now its 2 or 3 times before i even go to bed, then another 2 or 3 times in the nite.

so iv introduced solids coz i thought perhaps shes ready for weaning thats why (shes big for her age over 15 pounds)

it is only a spoonful or two a day so im not expecting miracles with this nite-waking but im just wondering if perhaps its not that after all, perhaps its a comfort thing? the reason i thought that is coz tonite she woke less than an hour after i put her to bed (she always has milk b4 bed btw) and she didnt feed loads really, and was "sleepy-feeding" (when they stay latched on but dont suck very often) straight away. she just didnt seem that hungry.

can anyone shed any light on this?!

DS comfort feeds but luckily in a way he will now accept a dummy in the night so I'm not his dummy! Only trouble is it falls out and wakes him up when it gets wedged under his face. He would wake several times, for teeny feeds then flop his head away from me and go straight back to sleep. Now he tends to go til 3-4 when I'll feed him and back down to sleep again til the morning, but that's quite a recent. Very occasionally he'll sleep through.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that it could be a comfort thing, especially if she's teething and waking up frequently because they're causing her a bit of discomfort.

Do you have a nighttime routine? Alex has his tea, then a bath and his last feed. He does seem to recognise that after his bath it's bed as he turbo feeds and gets really sleepy. Have you tried a dummy at night? He'll only take one for a newborn that I got off the front of mother and baby magazine!!

I find with D when i feed him he usually no matter how much he has settles batter if he has at least had a couple of mouthfuls off the second breat..why only Dylan knows...I also think sometimes he gets tired but just needs that little top up to get him through the next few hours.

What i find if he isn't eating much a waggle my boob around abit to get him going or move my nipple in and out to get him going.

to be homest though solids hasn't rally made a great deal of difference to d at night but is more contented in the day.

not sure if this answers your question

Hi

Kadyn usually sleeps 6-8 hours at night before waking for a feed. but recently he wakes after only a few hours which i think is for comfort as he is sick ATM . She probably is doing it for comfort and some babies sleep through then have a bad week or two then go back to their old routine.
