I was sitting and talking to DH tonight above the up coming birth of are princess which is due to arrive in about 4 weeks time due to health problems .

Upon talking about the birth i mentioned the ive never known a man not to cry at the birth of there child .

Nearly everyone i know friends/relatives have all said their OH's cried.

When i said this to my DH he just looked at me and said i wont cry .

Ive even lost count how many times people have said to him "you will cry you know when you see her been born" but he just laughs it off .

So i was wondering how many of your OH's cried at the birth .

leon cryed when both of them was born. throughout the whole pregnancy every1 kept telling him hhe would get emotional, by playin mr cool he denyed it and said it wouldnt bother him. that was until i was in labour and he was the 1st 1 rushing me 2 hospital, not leaving mr nt evn 2 go to the toilet and when they were born, it was like he was he 1 who had just given birth lol

lol oh dear

OH didnt cry, and during labour he wanted to go home and get some bits and bobs, he didnt come back for like 2 hours! and at about 7pm when i was in a LOT of pain, he wanted to go and get some tea  you can bet he got told where my toe would go if he so much as though of going for tea again never mind leaving me  lol

mine didn't. I'd have slapped him if he had have done! i can't stand crying men!

I don't think mine did, he had a tear in his eye but didn't actually cry.

Nope mine didn't with any of them! Infact when I was having Nathan he went to go and get some dinner and sat in the car listening to the Liverpool match and when he finally came in, about an hour before he was born he was gonna listen to it on the radio

My OH isnt emotional at all, but Rubys birth was so amazing...I had been induced and ended up with a c section after 36 hours not progressing. OH hates hospitas, and he was white as a sheet coming into theatre with me.

I had asked midwife to let Lee tell me the sex of baby (we hadnt found out at scans), so as she was lifted from me, they called Lee to look, he gasped and said "Zo, theres a baby!!" His face was a picture, he was totally in amazement...the midwife was mouthing "A GIRL!!" to him, and I was shouting "What sex??!!", he just burst into tears and said "A girl!!". I had always secretly wanted a little girl so I was so delighted...I was shouting "Ruby, I love you Ruby!!" "Oh my God, I got my little girl!!" and OH was sobbing saying "I love you, I am so proud of you!!". Daddy got first hold, and he just sat silently grinning and dripping big fat tears all over her!! It was the most amazing feeling watching them both..I am all teary thinking of it now :rotfl:

He will kill me now for sharing this with you all  :rotfl:

I've yet to find out! But apparently my Dad fainted when my sister was born and had to be taken out of the room! (This doesn't surprize me in the least. When I was 16 I'd had a operation to take a lump (hymangeoma - sp?) off my arm. When I went back to have the stitches taken out the nurse asked "Are you ok? Do you want a lie down?" When I replied that I was perfectly fine, she said, "I don't mean you." My Dad couldn't even cope with four stitches being snipped!!).

I think my fella might a little. But mostly if he's upset he just wells up rather than actually crying so he may not.

Nope my DH didnt cry, it wasnt because he didnt find it emotinal hes just not that type of guy!

my OH cried, not loads and only for first minute or so, my little boy was wisked away to SCBU so he kinda had to pull himself together to comfort me. my best mate was there too and she cried like a baby!!

i think mine will. he cried when we first heard the heartbeat at the 10 week mw appointment and at the scan he had tears in his eyes

I think DH will too he's certainly had teary eyes at the scans and the mw apt when we first heard the heartbeat.

My OH didn't cry but did have tears in his eyes. Whenever anybody asks him what the baby's birth was like he says "emotional" :)

My OH didn't cry, but he also didn't make a sound for nearly an hour. He vaguely nodded a few times and looked very dazed. After the surgeon (emergency section at 1.20am) took him down to the NICU and gave him a cup of strong tea he started speaking again. Shame it was only 'we've got a little girl' over and over again. It was quite annoying really, the nurses were more interested in his recovery than mine! I had to wait hours for a cuppa :(
