Im trying to give Jake some finger foods but he just isnt interested, he just passes it from one hand to the other then just drops it on the floor. Does this mean he isnt ready for finger foods or if I keep at it will he eventually start putting it in his mouth? I dont know if that makes any sense... it does to me lol

He is trying to hold his bottles but they are too wide for him to hold, even the slim ones. I tried to give him a drink in his tippy cup so he could hold it but he doesnt like the spouty bit as he is used to the feel of the teat. I was thinking about trying one of those bottles which is like an intermediate between the teat and the spuot but Im just wondering if they are any good?

Thank you :)

i'm not sure what cup you mean, but luke has a sippy tommee tippee cup for his water, took him ages to get used to it but now he is right on, i tried loads of other cups and a lot of them you have to suck and bite the spouts or just suck hard so your better off with a free flowing one at this early stage.

6 months is quite early for finger foods, they recommend 9 months so just keep trying him every so often, at the early stages most of it does end up on the floor anyway so he will get it don't worry. the first thing luke really liked and got the hang of was triangles of toast, you have plenty of time x

If you shop around nat there are stores that do bottle cups, its like a bottle that has the handle and a teat, but its not likie the average bottle teat. Its like a big rubber spout and it was succesful for us.

It's still good for him Natalie, even if he doesn't eat it, he's getting used to textures, smells, holding his own food, its all good for his learning :D Isaac won't drink out of a 'baby cup' yet, he doesn't appear to like water very much, just milk and bottle for him still.

Very best wishes

C didn't really take to a sippy cup, so I put her water into the beaker that attached to the breast pump - just a small beaker really - and she holds this with both hands and is much better than the double handled cups. Bit messy to start off with - i need two bibs - but she is geting the hang of it. She is about the same age - 7 months next week.

melissa was ready for finger foods before me- i knew coz she started grabbing the spoon and feeding herself lol.

she LOVES the boots beaker coz the spout is rubbery and she loves to bite it!

sorry is that actually any help lol
