So Girls night out coming up. Slightly nervous about it all. Have been practicing with baby with the bottle and he's been taking it well now (phew)
So when I go out DH will give him a bottle of expresses milk. When I miss that feed should I have to express when I'm out or just leave it completely (engorgement/pain allowing) If I do miss that feed completely will I ruin my supply?

Basically what's the drill ladies when you go out and not feeding your babies?

12 weeks. Will only be out for few hours but will probably miss one feed. About 10 where DH will give a bottle. X

That won't effect your supply but you will be leaking and uncomfortable!! I did that when B was 12 weeks and I spent a few trips in the loo squeezing the milk out! Either that or take your pump with you! X

Agree you won't affect your supply missing only one but you may well be quite uncomfortable and need to release in the loos - so don't wear black! X

Hmm I've been wondering about this too, I'm going shopping today and leaving LO for the first time with OH (I get funny about taking him out in the cold, he's coming up to 3 weeks old) and have expressed 2 bottles for him, but I didn't realise it may be uncomfortable... I will update later! Xx

Out of interest, if you hand express in the loos... How/where?! When I'm really full, I have to pump off about 2.5oz, I can't imagine being able to easily hand express enough.

I'm planning a night out next month but I think I'm gonna just have to go for the meal and come home!!

Glad I'm not the only one thinking of these things.
I'm glad it's not going to mess with my supply. Just hope my boobs don't get too painful. Think I'm just going to go for the meal too and dash home to feed!! Rock in roll hey! ;-)

And good tip about not wearing black!
Thank you xx

I don't find I need to express if I only miss one feed. Can generally wait till I get home.

What I try to so though is make sure I'm as empty as possible before I go. So try feeding LO just before you go out, or express off some before you have to leave.
