present from new baby to toddler?

Hi my girl will be just under two when the new baby comes. I would like to get a present from the new baby to her to make a bit of a fuss. Preferably something that could distract her when visiting in the hospital or at home in the early days. Has any one done this before? What did yous give as a present? Thanks x

Yes we did it when our son was born. Our daughter was 21 months and her brother gave her a big teddy holding a baby teddy. She loved it. Also she never really seemed to feel pushed out - despite the fact that I was back in hospital for a week and she had to share daddy with this new baby!

I just bought James loads of little bits - stickers, colouring books, crayons, toy cars - and not from the baby but from "us"

We got Mollie some finger puppets of farmyard animals. Sge loves them.
Although tbh an old sock seems to have the same effect...

I havnt done this personally but how about a doll and accessories (she may already have some things similar) but for her to have her own 'baby' who she can look after whilst you look after her sibling

More of a boy thing I suppose but then I liked them when I was younger, lol.

We went to visit our new nephew yesterday and took his 18 month old brother some megablocks. Kept him happy and meant he didnt feel jealous when the new mummy was opening our gifts for the baby.

We bought Madison a dolly and some books.
She was really chuffed but was more excited to see "her baby", we've never had any issues with feeling pushed out etc x
