present for a 5 year old?

This is proving more difficult than I first expected.

My half brother is 5 in January and I have no idea what to get him for Christmas or his birthday. I usually end up buying him clothes, and up until this year I've just bought whatever says age 3+ in Early Learning Centre as though he's very active he's a bit of a slow developer poor lad when it comes to talking and knowing things.

What do 5 year old boys do?!

He likes diggers and football if that's any help

is he into Doctor Who? Josh has just turned 6 & is Doctor Who mad, also loves football too, so what about buying him a nice football or a football annual or scarlf/bag?
go into your sports shops & have a look, get him something to do with the team he supports

I know Mason's a bit older than 5, but what do 5 year old boys actually do? Mason does quite a bit of stuff, but Robbie only properly strung sentences together this year..

He started school this term, so should I assume he can read? Tell the time? (I've seen some cool clocks..)

I feel like I should know, but I just don't..

Mason's into cars, drawing, cars, books, car magazines, movies, Top Gear,

Hmm not really helping am I?...his mates are all into Spiderman, Transformers, Dr who etc but he's not interested at all.

What about a DVD, like Monsters Inc or Cars or something? I bet he's into the Cars movie and there's loads of merchandise for that about.

Awww, Reece loves teh snail and the whale!!! And monkey puzzle, the gruffalo, room on the broom and george the nice giant or something, the boot aboks are fab!
