Is there anything to get excited about, or does a normal pillow do the same job? I noticed the dreamgenii one at £40  which buys you quite a lot elsewhere!

Thanks :D

I personally wouldnty spend the money, just buy some cheap ones from asda and lay them out like a pregnancy pillow, thats what i ddi and saved me a fortune.

£40!!!!

We have tonnes of spare pillows, tbh that's what I was thinking!

I just bought a "body pillow" from my local Lidl it was only cheap no more than £10, works great for me, wouldn't be able to sleep without it.

I had a little one which was like a wedge of cheese- I bought it on ebay for £4 but think they are about £10 in Argos- it was great and at least it didn't take over the bed.

It was also really useful when my milk came in as I could lie on my side and not roll onto my front and squash my painful boobs!!

I bought a v-pillow from Argos for £5.99. Does the job really well, was fab for breastfeeding, and Austin still uses it for daytime naps on the sofa. A great bargain when you consider in the same catalogue they sell a very similar "nursing pillow" for 3 times the price!

One of the best pregnancy things I ever bought (that and my birth ball :D )

OH bought me a dream-genii. I hated it to begin with as it meant I couldn't move around at night at all and I found it uncomfortable so I just used it as a long pillow and didn't use the bit for behind (I flipped it over so it went the other way). Then for a while in 2nd tri it was the most amazing and comfy thing ever!!!! Then towards the end of 2nd tri I found it made my PGP (what used to be called SPD) worse as because I couldn't move as much I would get in a lot of pain, wake and then move rather than naturally shifting in my sleep.

It was really sweet of OH to get it for me and I was convinced by their blurb before I got it but don't bother. I've stopped using it and just use cushions now. The dream-genii is cheap quality. The pillowcase is seriously bobbled, the cushio itself is cheap, basic quality - not what you expect for £40!!!!! I do use it like a v-pillow to sit up in bed sometimes but then you have to contend with the back pillow part (it's not removable). It says midwife recommended on it but a closer look shows that it is recommended by midwives as a breastfeeding pillow and I would have thought any similar pillow would be just as recommended.

Get a cheap pillow from somewhere else.

I bought the V-shape pillow from Mothercare and honestly I hardly ever use it in bed,,, don't like feeling a pillow under my bump as it makes me feel squashed,,, don't like using it to support my upper leg when I'm on my side because just as Kalia said it was aggravating my SPD instead of relieving it,,, so it's now on the settee, behind my back (but any pillow could do the job!). Hope I'll be able to use it for breastfeeding

Hey, thanks for your comments. That Argos V pillow looks cheap, especially as I think it will help later after the birth. I can use pillows for now though :)

I bought a DreamGenii, was very pleased with it as it helped me sleep in the optimal left hand side position. I've also got the V-pillow from Argos, that was good for lounging on the couch and book reading in bed.

I just had one of these and put it under my bump... did the job and I still use it now for back support :)
