Hi there

I am going to ttc and I am on Sertraline and Propranolol for depression and anxiety. I also take pentasa for Crohn's disease. I was wondering if i would have to come off my anti depressant and anxiety meds if i were to fall pregnant? Any advice / experiences shared would be really grateful.

Thanks 😀

No advice from me unfortunately but i think the best person to speak to for this would be your gp.
Good luck

Would definitely discuss with your GP as I believe some antidepressants are considered safer than others.

There are some antidepressents you can take while pregnant I can't remember which ones they are though but talk to your gp as it's best if you do need to switch meds you do it before you ttc so then you know if they are going to work for you or not and I'm not sure how your meds for chrons are for pregnancy so just have a chat with the go hun.

Echoing what the girls above have said - your GP will be the best person to advise.x

You may need them tweaked. I am on Fluoxetine and was told I could only be on 20mg a day so have had to start weaning down from 60mg. Also it may depend on if you are breastfeeding too.

I have never been pregnant just started TTC but definitely talk to your GP because you may need to make alterations or may need not to. But the sooner you know the better <3

Definitely go to your GP. I’ve had to halve my dose of sertraline. I think ideally you have to come off it, but it’s a balance between the risk of issues with the baby vs. the risk to your wellbeing/safety. Some drugs are a definite no, others are ok.
