Hi to all,

I just wanted to have some advice really. I'm 18 weeks pregnant at the moment and my man has a lovely, nearly 5yrs old, daughter from a previous relationship who stays with us nearly every weekend.

My problem is this. She is really annoying me. I have no reason for hate or blame her for anything as she is a sweet, generous, kind, caring little girl. I just find that I can't cope with her and things then really start to annoy me. Like she is scared to go to the loo by herself even though she can do it and has done it by herself before - yet every time she stays with us its like she's forgotten and we have to start the whole process of what to do again. There are other things too but I can't even remember them!!!!

What I wondered is whether anyone else has been through this and has any tips on how to get over being annoyed and any other useful info really.

She really is a lovely little girl, which makes my feelings seem even more unreasonable. So I would really appreciate any info or help on the subject.

Thanks very much, Be xxx :wall:

it's pregnancy hormones - and the only thing you can do is take a deep breath each time you get annoyed and consciously choose not to be - it's like pmt. I think the thing to remember is that the better you treat her now - the more welcoming she will be of your LO - so really you're doing it for your LO :D

Explain to Dh what's going on and how much you love the little girl and don't want to be annoyed - ask him for more help and plan some time just for you and her - a trip out or even sitting down with a book with her, or amking a cake time to relax with her and forget everything else
