I am sick of the waiting all the time and want to do everything I can to increase my chances of conceiving.

Does Pre-seed help you get pregnant? Does it make the spermies travel better?

i think it helps if u have a lack of 'natural' cm . i only used it once and have saved some for after i have surgery where ive actually got a better chance !

seen loads of success stories tho , and its not 'too' expensive

oh and it makes bding blooming brilliant for some reason

I used it the month I got pregnant :D

Its basically a sperm friendly lubricant, ive been looking at buying some.... might have to now! :D

are there any other products out there on the market i can take to get better chances of getting pregnant????

pre-seed is just a lubricant similar to something like KY Jelly but it's sperm friendly, i.e it won't kill them off or damage them like some branded lubricants do. It doesn't increase your chance of pregnancy, it simply helps to lubricate you if you don't produce enough CM or find sexual intercourse painful due to dryness etc.

On average it can take a normal couple up to a year to fall pregnant from when they first start trying properly. If you do want to concieve keep a track of your periods, changes in CM, temperatures etc and invest in an OKP (ovulation predictor) kit or monitor from somewhere like Boots or Superdrug. Most supermarkets sell the disposable OKP's, if you wanted the monitor you'd have to go somewhere like Boots.

If you haven't concieved with a year a doctor might then start doing some tests, if you went after 4 or 5 frustrated months you'd be told to return once you had been trying for 12+ months just down to the law of averages and statistics etc.

There isn't anything you can buy specifically that will aid you getting pregnant faster...if there was it would be well known and have made someone very rich indeed. Fertility drugs such as clomid are only prescribed by the GP for women who do not ovulate on a regular basis (or not at all) so even something like that isn't avaliable to the general public as most women can ovulate and produce an egg or two each month.

Good luck TTC'ing, there are no magic cures or miracle potions, sadly patience and time are, in the majority of cases, the only way to go. Just don't forget to baby dance!! :rotfl:

Thanx... i didn't really mean like a miracle type of thing.. i meant to better prepare your body etc... i heard folic acid is good - is that true?

I think trying to be fit and healthy is the main thing. Take folic acid and try not to eat fatty foods. My friend told me she read somewhere that eating foods high in fat can cut your chance of concieving by 75%!!!!! (dont know if its true). Even if it doesnt work theres nothing wrong with being a bit healthier :cheer:

I slightly disagree with Nicola. EWCM is the cervical fluid that sperm can surive in the longest and pre-seed is similar to this. So if you haven't got any or much then pre-seed helps to provide an enviroment that the sperm can survive in for longer than if you were quite dry down there and therefore increasing the chances of concieving - slightly.

Hiya the month I conceived I did the following:

1. Took Magic Medicine 10ml 4 times a day from 5 days before ov until I was sure I had ovulated.

2. Took baby asprin as soon as someone recommened it to my which was in the middle of AF (1 a day) I actually contuined taking it until I was 12 weeks pg. I did consult my dr and mw and they were happy for me to continue taking it.

3. DH took Zinc (1 a day).

The reasons behind these.
Magic Medicine - There is a topic in TTC call Magic Medicine it dates backe about 2 yrs and the majority of girls who took it did become pg. It's a chesty cough mixture like benelyn, own brands are fine and a lot cheaper just make sure it contains 100% guaifenesin. A side even of this is that it produces more CM than normal which is why you take it just before you ov. Have a look in the topic its well worth reading.

Baby/Junior Asprin
This is meant to help with implantation it is used much more in the US where it's often prescribed to women who have previously suffered miscarriages. Basically it's meant to help prevent blood clots.

Zinc for the boys.
Zinc is supposed to help with motility of sperm basically getting them to swim in the right direction.

I had a mc back in May last year and fell pg again in November I took the magic med from about October and the Asprin in Nov and DH took Zinc in Nov. I got my bfp 14th Dec.

Best of luck to you I hope you get lucky soon. The best advise I can give is to try not to stress as stressing can delay your AF and believe you're time will come.

Yes!! Folic acid is a MUST if you are TTC!! If you are not already taking it I suggest you really do. I was advised to start taking it up to three months before TTC'ing to really get it into my system and give me a good base before getting pregant type thing. I take the sanatogen pro-natal vitamins and since getting pregnant the omega 3 oils too as I don't eat any type of fish and given the mercury poisoning fish can cause babies anyway I thought it best to have the necessary omega 3 in capsuals. The omega 3 is pricy but folic acid tablets can cost as little as 50p per month if you were to buy say Tesco's own...the Santogen pro-natals are £4.99 per month, £10.99 per month with the omega oil bottle.

I've heard it's the other way around for fatty foods. You definiteyly shouldn't have skimmed milk or anything like that. Proper full fat dairy products are best if you want to ovulate regularly. Obviously not a license to live on fried eggs and burgers!

The month we conceived, I used OPKs for the first time. They were brilliant and we hit the nail on the head (so to speak!!). They especially help if you've recently come off the pill and are not sure of your ovulation or cycle length. I've got some left over so if anyone wants to pm me I'll do a draw and post them to the winner (free!).

Legs in the air,
Not showering after sex,
Deep position (eg. doggy style),
Folic acid,

forgot to say, I'll post the results of the OPK draw at around 7pm tomorrow.

I don't know....I've been told by my GP and acupuncture therapist that dairy products are a damp forming food and bad for the womb lining and too much cheese can cause infertility. I don't know how much of that is completely true you hear so much of what you can/cant etc etc but I thought it odd that both the GP and acupuncture lady should tell me the exact same things prior to my conception without me even mentioning it - I simply asked about foods to enjoy/avoid. Another bit of information to chew over I suppose.

I've just ordered some :cheer:

Between that and the sexy new undies I have bought today hopefully something good will come of this month!
