Pram tips

Hello

We are new to this all as first time parents and wondered if anyone had some first hand experience.

We are looking at prams / travel systems but want something which would be good on different terrains. We have a dog and live in a semi rural area so would want to walk across woodland.

Having looked online , we can see the following : Bugaboo Buffalo , I Candy multi terrain, Jane Strider and mini city gti jogger.

Has anyone had any experience of these and got any recommendations?

I live in a farm with a very rough stone track to get to it. We have the egg as a good clean going out pram and a graco I bough secondhand for on the farm and getting dirty. The egg is a much nicer pram all round (and I do love it and wouldn't change it) but I can't fault the graco for what we use it for either. This morning I've bounced it down the lane and over a rough field in the mud! The egg is better off road as it us easier to push but I don't want to get it dirty and covered in cow poo and then put it in my car! My little boy loves bouncing over the stones and happily sleeps when being pushed over rough ground. He isn't as keen on smooth shopping centers and I find I have to look for bumps to push him over to keep him happy. Hope that helps, defo look at the egg!

I've got a Jane one, not too sure what model or anything

I used one whilst babysitting and loved it, and a friend was selling one for an amazing price so I snapped it up when I was only about 12 weeks!

Have you considered the britax b motion 3? That's top of my list to try out!

As long as it has larger wheels and is not too heavy it will work. It is also handy if the hood is sturdy and comes low down. Read as many reviews as you can before buying x

I have a bugaboo donkey which I love and is good on rough terrain, basically the buffalo is just the single version of a donkey. I found when I tried out a donkey in a shop for manoeuvrability nothing else felt as good x

I have the Jane trider and love it.

We live in a very rural area and it was perfect for the bumpy terrain.

We have two other pushchairs as well and neither compares to how much sturdier the trider is. They were bought for trips away as the trider does take up quite a bit of space in the car!

I had a giant baby that grew very fast and the expensive travel system we bought just was no good after maybe 10 months as it was too heavy. It was an icandy jogger and good for off road.

We then bought a baby jogger city mini gt which was great. I think if I was buying again I'd spend more money on the stroller as they last until the little one is 3+

I have the Bugaboo Cameleon 3 and can't recommend it highly enough but a good friend of mine is very rural and has the Buffalo and swears by it xx

I have a concord neo which is the same company that make Jane. We live on a farm and have taken the pram to horse shows and not struggled at all. My friend events her horses and has the Jane.

My overall pram tip to anyone though is as soon as DS was 6months we got a baby jogger as travel systems are a pain! It just becomes cumbersome to have bits to fold up and attach etc and the baby jogger is far more sturdy than a regular buggy and is so easy to get in and out of cars etc.

So for me if seriously consider the city mini gt. They look a bit odd when they're little I guess having the car seat and / or carrycot attachments instead of a more traditional look but all my friends end up with a city mini!
