I guess i feel a bit horomnal so rather then brushing this off i got upset...

I traded in my MX5 for an astra, i love it and think its a wicked car but a few ppl at work make comments making me feel like i miss it and stuff, like "oih thats a shame!" or someone at work today said "You don't downgrade from an mx5 to an astra why didnt u get a 4x4 etc".

I tend to procrastinate as it is so i was quite proud of myself that I made a choice on car so quickly and got it done, but when i was driving home today I saw someone with the roof down and thought about how much my life is going to change.

Although im 28 im really young at heart and this is my first baby so i have no idea what to expect...
Anyway just a vent

Don't worry hun  You said yourself, you love your new car!

I guess people assume you've "downgraded" (even though it's only downgrading in SOME peoples eyes) because your pregnant and for financial reasons, so don't let it get you down hun.

There'll be loads of other cars once you're done with this one and people will be saying "well THAT was an improvement!!!" :wall:

Similar (in a way) but I've been buying LOADS on ebay and I work with some pretty well off women, they just said "aawww don't worry, you can upgrade the moses basket etc when you have a bit more money" and assumed I couldn' t afford proper stuff I guess... I just thought - Hang on, I actually LOVE the moses basket and would have paid full price for it if I'd seen it in a shop!!

Ah the hormones ay! Gotta love em. x

Thanks hon, I actually think ebay is a good idea because the baby doesnt stay that way for long and you have to keep buying and buying

Astras are brilliant cars! They are fast and reliable and they are smexy! I wouldn't worry about them nastys saying that you "downgraded" its not as if your driving a bucket of poo.

They obviously don't know much about cars! 4x4's are for getting dirty!! Only kidding :)

No-one's opinion of your car matters except yours!

Awww  It's not the end for you and convertibles  You can always get another when the kid(s) are older :D

Besides 28 is not old :shakehead: When you're in your 70s and 80s now that's old and even then you could still have a convertible when you're that age :D

Going slight off the original subject my sister (who gave birth last November) said the other day that she was surprised how cheap babies were. She was expecting much more expense. She said she was given so many clothes and toys and they bought most furniture/equipment off ebay. Obviously there is some expense but there are ways and means of not blowing your budget.

I've been offered the lend of a moses basket which I have gratefully accepted. The kid is only going to be in it for about 4-5 months and then I can give it back :D

 Poor you! I hate it when other people voice their opinions when they're not needed, particularly when you are feeling hormonal!

C xxx

When baby arrives you'll be glad you've opted for a practical car.

Your life is going to change for the better, you won't give your MX5 a second thought I'm sure.

Plus, you can always get one again in the future :)
